The importance of
accessibility features for
students with disabilities
cannot be understated.
Whether they have hearing,
motor, visual, or other
impairments, students with
disabilities often require
special accommodations in
the classroom in order to
succeed. Following are five
examples of such
accessibility features on
the Apple iPad.
Please note: in order to access
the following accessibility
features, open the Settings app
and click on the tab for
Accessibility. From there, the
tabs for Subtitles & Captioning,
Hearing Devices, AssistiveTouch,
Voice Control, and Larger Text
can clicked on and customized.
Example #1: closed captions can be enabled for students with
hearing impairment
Example #2: hearing devices can be paired for students with
hearing impairment
Example #3: assistive touch can help students with motor
impairment
Example #4: voice control can help students with motor
impairment
Example #5: text size can be adjusted for students with visual
impairment
These are only a few examples of
the accessibility features that
are available on the Apple iPad.
