the classroom
FEAT. THE
APPLE IPAD

1. Closed captions: This is a
accessibility feature that
allows the user to have
access to text instead of
the voice. This is very
popular in the deaf
community.
2. Headphone accommodations

This feature allows the user to adjust

the output of noise when using their
headphones.
This is commonly used for people
who are hard of hearing or even
preferred hearing. Ex: Using one
headphone for work purposes.
3. Language detection
This is used to help people who
speak a variety of different
languages than the ones used
around them. This allows them to
be involved in conversation by
electronic translation.
4. SIRI- Siri is used across all Apple
Products. She can help accommodate
people with a variety of disabilities.
Ex: Announcing notifications on
speaker (vision disabilities). The
ability to respond to messages and
make calls hands free can help people
who have motor disabilities.
5. Assistive touch- This is used to
help people with motor
development disabilities. It can
allow you to use Face ID rather
than putting in passwords or
double clicking the power button.
The person can also set it up to
where the pressure of their taps
or scrolls are still recognizable.
