Hi Upper Krust! I'm waiting all the divine abilities and your chapter about portfolios with trepidation. The firsts are very
good, but I've some questions for you.
Dragonmoon said:
- A divine ability to become a lich, were creature or half dragon/demon/celestial isn't too much? A not too high level mage
can obtain the same result with a spell and a divine being wouldn't be more powerful then a mortal mage?
I think that for tha price of a divine ability the divine character would have the possibility to became a more powerful
creature like lich, demilich, etc.
A divine ability apes a +1 Challenge Rating increase. Thats the equivalent of 6 (epic) feats.
While I can see that in some cases this would seem underpowered, a lycanthrope does get about 14 bonus
ability scores on top of other stuff.
The problem comes when the CR does not match a Divine, or Cosmic or Transcendental ability.
Dragonmoon said:
- What do you think of a cosmic ability to became a dragon with the same hit dice?
I think that sounds okay, although it might need checking for epic/adamic/nehaschimic dragons. Although
the Hit Dice thing is a good prereq.
Dragonmoon said:
- How can an immortal become immune to non elemental energy effect (negative energy, ability score drain, etc)?
The short answer is they can't. Spells/items can inhibit the effect. Certain types of monsters (ie. Undead) are
immune, so it might benefit you to become one.
Dragonmoon said:
- Is there a cosmic/Trascendent version of the force field (wit "many" more hit points or an area of effect)?
You can stack Force Field indefinately, so there is no version with more hit points, you just stack that one, as
for an area Force Field I am toying with a second divine ability.
Dragonmoon said:
- What type of creatures you can summon with adjuration? Outsiders? Only creatures with your alignment? And how
much time they can remain? Will be there an improved version of this ability? (Five times your hit dices, etc)?
Its roughly equivalent to Summon Monster in most areas. I still need to iron out the exact parameters.
Dragonmoon said:
- How can an immortal create new creatures? He must use his quintessence? What is the maximum hit dices or ECL of a
creature a god can create? For example, an intermediate god of Hell with 90 hit dice can create a personal version of a pit
fiend?
An individual cannot create something noticeably more powerful than their Avatar. Though a Pantheon could
join its power to create something really powerful.

Here is a quick list of some of the new feats/divine/cosmic abilities I will shortly be adding in some capacity.
Epic Feats:
Divine Abilities:
I'll also be changing the Intellectual, Overwhelming and Insight feats to new names (the suffix will either be
Mind, Body or Soul). I'll be adding the Lich and Vampire Template abilities.
Cosmic Abilities:

1. Learned Spell Immunity: should this be an epic feat? I mean it only blocks subsequent uses of the same spell from the
same caster.
This is the Infernal's ability, right? It's far too good and wide-ranging for a single Epic Feat, and the bookwork
for recurring foes would be dreadful, but it's the sort of thing that a specialist might have for their school.
You could put it as two feats: the first giving you learned spell immunity to one school only, the second -
requiring the first - absolute immunity. Prerequisites should be hefty.

Your natural size is whatever size you desire it to be.
Prerequisites:Sidereal
Benefit:Your natural size is whatever size you desire it to be. Your divine power is in no way limited by your
size, nor is your size limited by your divine power. Thus as a sidereal or greater you retain your full power
regardless of your actual and/or current size, for such limitations are irrelevant to you

What about saying that the immunity fades after each day/encounter. That way you don't need to remember
recurring foes. Do you think this way its definately just an epic feat?

Well normally deities can only create other outsiders, which is merely reshaping the souls of the dead to new
forms.
Outsiders, in and of themselves cannot beget life (I know certain Planescape books differ on this approach).
So the renamed Great Breath (aka Cosmic Creation) allows you to create beings which can create life.

I know I mentioned the Immortals Handbook: Chronicle only has up to 120th-level adventures, but I will try
and squeeze in some brief (single page) adventures for 250th, 500th and 1000th level characters.

Yes. Work out strength as normal, then double it. NB. this only works for inherant strength - it doesn't double
magic item or spell boosts to strength.

2)his critical damages are more than 200000 (critic divine abilitie, feats etc, ) what are the limitations ?

Nice, definately Omnific of course, even though its probably less powerful than Infinite Strength for example.
But is something like that going to be potentially complicated when you grow to Universe size.

Hey UK mate,
hope you could do me a favor and post a short list with your average CR numbers for the different
templates. Like you did in the Chronicle thread with Hero (30) Demi (60) and Intermediate (120).

since they won't be in the next update can you give us and idea about portfolios, such as how they will look
and how they will work. or perhaps even an example or 2 just so we (i) can have a clue how they will work?
thanks

Hi, Upper Krust, congratulations for your new forums. I'll visit all (job allowing)!
In my adventure a high level paladin character has been transformed into a solar of HD = Lvls for reward by
his goddess.
Now demigod he grows up as an outsider.
The same thing is possible using your divine ability for became an outsider and one/two cosmic ability (es.:
became planetar - became solar)?
In your books an avatar is only an exstension of the divine character or it can be a separated being that he
can use like a familiar, friend, serf, etc?
The divine character can sense what the avatar sees, hears, etc regardless of distance?
A god can bestow avatar state on a being?
I have already begun the contdown for the 0.8 version of your book!

Thanks a lot, would really be appreciated
Well its pretty simple to work out, just take the average ECL and turn it into a CR.

It doesn't bother Galactus that he is 28 feet tall. I don't see why you are so desperate to have a medium sized
time lord...?!
dante58701 said:
Okay, although again, what is the benefit of this? Even if you take Universe size you will only get about +9950
strength (so its weaker than infinite strength), not to mention you'll have an AC penalty of about 10E200.

Well the good news is that I should have the cover finished tomorrow (and its looking pretty good if I do say
so myself), Thursday at the absolute latest...although of course none of that really helps the next Ascension
update, but once the cover is out of the way I expect to make a lot more progres sobviously.

Well mechanically they are somewhat like Prestige Classes, but with Status points instead of levels. But
there is a lot more to each Portfolio than that, there are a lot of information, Favoured Animal, weapon, time,
place etc. etc.
