TRAINING EXPERIENCE

WEEKLY REPORT
• I, Michelle C. Padit an BSHRM student from Access Computer Colleges, had my
training at Torre Venezia Suites. I started my duty on december 20, 2019 and it
ended on March 14, 2020. The HR personnel (Miss Nhing Sandel), introduced to us the
Restaurant and Banquet Manager. Mr. Rennan Valladolid, we met him and he told us
that be on time when it comes to duty, and then he gave us a schedule. Miss Nhing
oriented me and my classmate about the company. Torre Venezia Suites is a hotel and
a condominium. The HR tour us on different rooms and facilites. She discussed the
hotel amenities, conference facilities, and banqueting rooms like veneto, sicilia,
and toscana. I was assigned to the Restaurant and Banquet Department, so we need to
provide a own uniform like black long sleeve polo, black slacks and black shoes.

On the first day of my internship, Mr. Rennan Valladolid (The Restaurant and
Banquet Manager) explained to me the rules and regulation inside the restaurant. The
Rocca ristorante has a two types of breakfast in the morning, buffet breakfast and
ala carte breakfast for the guests. That day is buffet breakfast so I arranged the
equipment in the buffet area and when the food is ready, I took it from the kitchen
and placed in a buffet where the guests serve themselves. They have a list of
people who have breakfast every day. The breakfast begin at 6am in the morning, As
soon as a guest enters, I should greet them warmly with a smile and assist them to
the table. I provide warm water or juice for them. I also offered a cup of coffee,
tea and soup, after that i will tell them the buffet is ready so that they can get
food for themselves. I also offered omelet for each guest, i should be the one who
prepare and cook the omelet in the station.

The breakfast end at 10:30, when all the guests already had a breakfast. I need to
pull-out the food from the buffet. I took the cart, so that i can get the
leftovers-food and bring to the kitchen. Next i need to clean the buffet
station, table and chair, to maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant. After that,
I set a spoon, fork, water goblet and tissue on the table. I even clean the floor
by brushing away the dirt and I'm using mop for wiping the floors. I was also
assigned in the balcony area. After the breakfast, we're able to welcome walk-in
guests and eatigo at any hour.

I have also experience the Ala carte breakfast, When guest who walks through the
door, I should be the one who open the door and greet the guest. I bring them to
the table and presented a menu for them. I also take the orders and gave it to the
kitchen staff.

The breakfast in Rocca Ristorante is depended on how many pax on the list. Example,
if 10 pax on the list it means ala carte breakfast but if the pax is 10 up to 20,
that means buffet breakfast.

On my second week, I was assigned to the banquet room because the hotel had an
event. We set up a table, table cloth, chair, spoon, fork, dessert spoon, water
goblet table napkin etc. After the preparation, we take the food from the kitchen
to the banquet hall and set up the buffets with food presentation standards and
practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance. We accommodates all
guests and we are responsible for replenishing buffet food, refilling beverages.
After the event and after guest leave the banquet room, we started to remove the
dirty dishes from tables and clean the banquet area.

On my third week, I had experience of organizing things inside the stock room,
cleaning the foam padding, wiping the utensils, and folding the table cloths and
the others. I also had experience the room service, where the guests had an order
like food or drink. I will be the one who brought the foods to their rooms.

Last week of my internship,

I experienced a lot of things in my OJT such as being an independent, being
responsible to do our task that our manager, give to us, to be able to learned and
gain new things and new knowledge, to be able to mingle and know more about our
manager and staff and to be able to improve my skills.

I learned that OJT is not just a requirement to be completed but it is an

opportunity to show what skills and knowledge that I have and also an opportunity
to experience the feeling of being a professional already.
Aside from the experience that I had relating to my course, this OJT allowed me to
get acquainted with the employees of Rocca Ristorante, being with them is a
pleasure because I was working with them. During my stay there as trainee, they
kept on encouraging and motivating me to to do my best always.I really had a very
meaningful and memorable OJT at the rocca. I am looking forward to working with
them, not as trainee anymore, but a professional like them, someday.
