Summary Statement:
Edward Joseph Ablan has set core skills and competencies in marketing, sales and operations with more than 20
years of experience in the field of managed care and health care services as well as banking and food industry. He
was President & COO of Unishield Healthcare, a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) that he established from
end to end. He was responsible for leading the development and execution of the company’s short and long term
strategies with a view to creating shareholder value. He was ultimately responsible for all day-to-day management
decisions, and for implementing the company’s plans.

Prior to his stint in the DALTA Group of Companies, Edward was involved in the management of corporate clients at
Fortune Medicare Inc. Edward also spent two (2) years as Department Head/OIC-Division Head in one of the largest
banks in the Philippines where his competencies in marketing, sales and operations drove a milestone as he headed a
successful personal loans product in the market. However, a major portion of his career has been focused on health
care services. His experience and expertise in the health care industry were gained from the roots of financial
services giant Philamlife/AIG where he was rigidly trained to handle process management, systems development and
corporate support services. Since then, he has provided strategic leadership in the development and pilot
implementation of specific projects and corporate products and services.

Recently, Edward joined a group of individuals from varied industries with substantial and considerable expertise in
their respective fields. The group’s services were procured by a realty corporation with extensive presence and
substantial operations in the Negros Province. The group served as a Project Management Team (PMT) with the
objective of rehabilitating the corporation’s operations, marketing and sales. As well as to serve as an overseer of the
Local Management Team (LMT) in a director level capacity. He served as the PMT’s and the LMT’s finance and
administration head.

Operations

 Reviews, develops and recommends policy guidelines/ bulletins and amendments
thereto on the processing/ handling of personal loan accounts. Ensures the
dissemination of approved policy guidelines to concerned officers and staff within the
Bank.
 Coordinates with Area Heads, Branch Heads, and heads of various internal units to
discuss relevant policies, guidelines, processes, and to resolve any issues or tackle special
projects.
 Oversees the daily business operations of the department by monitoring the influx of
business transactions of each channel, as well as overseeing the channel officers in the
servicing of accounts
 Resolves issues referred by account officers. Reviews applications, recommendations,
and endorses the same for approval to the appropriate approving authority. Presents
accounts to the Executive Committee for approval when necessary; oversees
presentation by account officers of their accounts to the Credit Committee.
 Reviews and signs communications to channels.
 Provides coaching, training and rotation of assignments to ensure development and
retention of highly qualified professional department officers and staff. Evaluates
performance of direct reports and reviews account officers’ evaluation of marketing
staff. Provides feedback to ratees, and recommends promotions and disciplinary actions
when appropriate.
