Pedagogy

Activity This lesson is designed to help the students learn and describe different
kinds of weather, as well as observe, record and describe how weather
changes. The teacher will first provide a lesson introducing the subject and
once the teacher feels like the students understand, they will then use this
SMART notebook lesson to engage the students and help them understand
better. First, student volunteers will be able to come up to the board to
use the pen and write what kind of weather they see and explain it is that
kind. Another student will then be asked to come up the board and
describe today’s weather in the box and the teacher will ask the other
students if they agree with what their classmate chose. Students will also
circle the correct temperature that they read from the thermometer as
well and circling the correct temperature that belongs with the picture.
Students will then be asked to describe their ideas of bad weather and for
time purposes and better understandings, the teacher will write them in
the box as the students describe them. Finally, using previous knowledge
students will use the next three pictures on the slides to describe the
weather in each picture. Once that is complete the remainder slides have
the answers. The teacher will go over the answers with the students and if
any is missed the teacher will go over the material again quickly and ask
the students to try again until they get the correct answer. However, some
answers that the students give may vary than the answers that are on the
remainder slides. Once this activity is completed students will receive a
handout that has all the slides and the correct answers that way, they can
gyTechnolo have it for future reference.
