Question 1 In no more than 100 words, briefly explain the definition of business ethics.
Business ethics is the study of appropriate business policies and practices regarding potentially
controversial subjects including corporate governance, insider trading, bribery, discrimination,
corporate social responsibility, and fiduciary responsibilities. In the business world, standards are set
for determining good and bad behavior and decision-making. Thus, business ethics leads to a more
productive workplace. There are many different people you have to answer to: customers,
shareholders and clients in the business. It is the set of moral rules that govern how businesses
operate, how business decisions are made and how people are treated. In other word, business
ethics is also called corporate ethics.

business ethics in their leadership of the workplace.
Managers hold positions of authority that make them accountable for the ethical conduct of those
who report to them. They fulfil this responsibility by making sure employees are aware of the
organization's ethical code and have the opportunity to ask questions to clarify their understanding.
Manager’s behaviour is the most important thing in the business because it reflects the business
ethics in their leadership of the workplace. Manager is accountable for promoting workplace ethics
by communicating ethical expectations, offer ethics training to the employees, visibly reward ethical
acts and punish unethical ones and provide protective mechanisms and most importantly be a role
model and be visible.

Question 3 In the space below, outline three (3) leadership styles.


There are three basic styles of leadership decision-making: authoritarian, democratic, and laissez-
faire. Authoritarian leaders rule their groups, democratic leaders try to include everyone in the
decision-making process, and laissez-faire leaders let the group function without much - if any -
interference.

a) Bounce Fitness mission is to serve the community with quality, comprehensive, unique, and
distinctive health programs and services. The employee team will expand upon the preventive
services while improving the quality of life among participants through health and fitness
services utilising state of the art equipment and practices. These programs will reflect
members’ needs and be financially viable for all stakeholders.

Bounce Fitness vision is committed to an expanding role as a premiere provider of wellness


integrated services. Though the involvement of an empowered employee culture and the
creative acquisition and use of resources, we will develop and implement comprehensive
programmes and services appealing to all.

Leadership Styles How do these support Bounce Fitness mission, objectives
and values?

1. Authoritarian An authoritarian leader exhibits close control over the


workforce and motivates individuals through application
of strictly enforced rules, regulations and penalties. It can
also be used effectively in situations where staff are
inexperienced and require close monitoring until they
become familiar with their work. The leader’s word is
final and employees are not expected to question the
direction they have been given. Authoritarian leadership
styles can support Bounce Fitness mission, objectives and
values in different ways which are listed below.
 Respect your workplace
 Set rules and be consistent
 Be prepared to listen to feedback
 Be flexible

Democratic leaders empower their team to make


decisions. They do not micromanage talented workers.
Implementing this style of leadership is not always simple
or comfortable, but it has been proven to motivate
employees and guide companies to success. It helps
employees feel valued, gives them a sense of ownership
over their position, and motivates high productivity.

You can consider specific legislation in your response, and how it affects the
leadership in Bounce Fitness.
Leadership cultivates the foundation of culture to empower employees to achieve the company
mission and realize how vital each of their contributions is to furthering those goals. Leaders have a
responsibility to demonstrate the beliefs of the company and reinforce behaviours that reflect those
values. Key areas in which legislation has an impact on business are in Employment, Consumers,
Environment, Competition, and Health and Safety - so the aim of reducing red tape cannot be to
remove these regulations and protections, but rather to simplify and amend them. "Good regulation
is a good thing.
Work health safety is one of the legislations that might affect the leadership in Bounce Fitness. WHS
legislation incudes:

 Regulations
 Code of practice
Bounce Fitness is one of the growing business in the industry. The leaders in Bounce Fitness should
follow the safety rules and regulations and make sure that all the employees are following the same
as the company standard as well as meet the government criteria. If these guidelines are not properly
followed by the employees, leaders are the one who is responsible in maintaining a discipline and
should take an action against them who does not follows.

The first step in managing any type of organizational change is understanding how to manage change
with a single individual. Prosci's model of individual change is called the Prosci ADKAR Model, an
acronym for awareness, desire, knowledge, ability and reinforcement. Change Management
Processes include a sequence of steps or activities that move a change from inception to delivery. The
following are the few essential steps for an effective change in management process.
 Identify what will be improved
 Present a solid business case to stakeholders
 Plan for the change
 Provide resources and use data for evaluation
 Communication
 Monitor and manage resistance, dependencies, and budgeting risks

Organizational change can take many forms. It may involve a change in a company's structure,
strategy, policies, procedures, technology, or culture. ... Oftentimes, the planning process reveals the
need for a new or improved strategy, which is then reflected in changes to tactical and operational
plans. There are few steps to implementing change in the workplace which are listed below.
 Clearly define the change and align it to business goals
 Determine impacts and those affected
 Develop a communication strategy
