ActivityAutomatic Replenishment
You use this business process to fill up a picking area in accordance with the demand for products that
you pick in this area. In this automatic replenishment process, you use warehouse orders (WOs) to carry
out replenishment. The system creates replenishment WOs in the background when you confirm a pick-
WO and the stock in the source bin falls below a predefined threshold. The system calculates the
replenishment quantity in accordance with the maximum and minimum quantity maintained for the
product in the product master.
The following figure illustrates the correlation between the physical process and the manual or automatic
activities in the system:

 Warehouse request for internal stock transfers

Prerequisites
You have open WOs from the Outbound Process Using Pick-HUs as Shipping HUs [External] that
decrease the stock below the threshold of replenishment during confirmation.
For more information about the configuration prerequisites, see Configuration of Automatic
Replenishment [Page 10].
Process
The business process runs in SAP EWM as follows:
1. Create replenishment WOs (EWM)

When a warehouse worker picks goods in an outbound process and confirms the pick-WO, the system
determines in the background if a replenishment of the source bin is necessary. It calculates the
replenishment quantity in accordance with the maximum and minimum quantity maintained for the
product in the product master. The system creates replenishment warehouse tasks (WTs) and WOs when
the stock is less than the minimum quantity. The system rounds down the replenishment quantity to a
multiple of the minimum replenishment quantity. The system automatically assigns the replenishment WO
to a high-priority queue.
