1 O2 making machine
Presently there are different kinds of oxygen making machines with oxygen purities from 90% to 99.9%.

According to achieved oxygen quality - the O2 purity, there are several kinds of O2 machines.
(1) >99.5% air separation unit
(2) ≧ 99.5% membrane O2 generator
(3) 90-99% PSA O2 generator

Cryogenic oxygen plant (>99.5%)

Cryogenic oxygen plant or called air Separation Unit (ASU) can generate only oxygen, or generate both
oxygen and nitrogen in gas or liquid form. The working principle of it is that dry saturated air with
purifications to remove moisture, impurities entering the lower tower becomes liquid air as it continues
to be cryogenic. Physically air is separated, and high purities oxygen and nitrogen are obtained by
rectifying in fractionating column according to different boiling points of them. Rectifying is the
process of multiple partial evaporation and multiple partial condensation.

This kind of cryogenic oxygen plant has main components including rectifying tower or cooling tower,
air compressor, pre-cooler, turbine expander etc.

Membrane oxygen generator ( ≧ 99.5%)

After a series of purification process compressed air


with around 21% percent oxygen goes into Oxygen
membrane separator. One part of it with wealthy argon
and nitrogen is ventilated while the other part with
lean argon and enriched oxygen is collected at one
outlet and the other part. The latter is compressed into
separator to do the secondary separation and recycling.
Desired qualified oxygen is output and unqualified is
returned to separator to again separated until desired
99.5% purity oxygen is got to output as product gas.

PSA oxygen generator (90%-99%)
PSA means Pressure Swing Adsorption. This On Site PSA oxygen generator is based on following
working principle. Compressed air through filtration and purification to remove remnant water, oil,
dust, and then enters adsorption vessel filled with molecular Sieve. Nitrogen is absorbed by sieve and
desired oxygen passes to output as product gas at purity 93+/-3% (90%-96%). Through a purifier to
further purify the first stage oxygen, 98%+/-1% (97%-99%) purity oxygen is obtained.

Generally we developed below types of oxygen plants with different kinds of key components to suit
different circumstances:

High attitude type: to suit high attitude plateau ( like Tibet) environment of oxygen deficiency and
low oxygen partial pressure.
High latitude type: to suit cold temperature in high latitude areas (like Northeast China) in winter.
High temperature & high humidity type: to suit low latitude areas (like South China)
especially in Summer.
Wind & sandstorm proof type: to suite desert areas with much wind and sandstorms (like
Northwest China)

Skid mounted oxygen generator system
Skid mounted on-site oxygen generator system is the common one, with main components like air
compressor, air dryer on skids. In this way each part can be moved or carried by forklift. By connecting
interconnecting pipes, wires & cables, the system works.

The output pressure can be boosted up to 200bar from 4.5bar.

Mobile container oxygen package


This type of on site containerized oxygen plant is designed and constructed with a ISO steel container
Containers to hold the package are always customized with 10-40 feet with necessary firefighting,
venting, lightning devices inside.

For institutions of those remote areas far away from downtown, like islands, field medical units, or
applications with mobile purpose, it is very suitable.

Oxygen cylinders refilling system
Oxygen cylinders refilling system is a good solution for storing generated oxygen gas into cylinders.
This filling station provides a good solution for those remote areas or islands with poor transportation
which makes it difficult for transporting oxygen in cylinders.

It is also used by hospitals to store redundant oxygen after meeting oxygen demands of patients
rooms. And for merchants to produce oxygen gas for commercial sale purpose.

VPSA oxygen plant
VPSA means Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption. Feed air is sucked filters for removal of dust before
boosted to 0.3~0.5barg by roots blower. It then goes into an absorber full of absorbent activated
aluminum to eliminate water, CO2 and other gases at the bottom, above which N2 absorbed by
absorbent zeolite molecular sieve. O2 with argon is output on the top as product gas into oxygen
buffer tank and then boosted to higher pressure by oxygen compressor to consumption point.

When the absorbents are at saturation state full of absorbed gases, it is depressurized to negative
micro-pressure before vacuumized by vacuum pump to -0.5~-0.8barg. Then the air of the other
absorber and some product gas will be let in to push absorbed water, CO2, N2 to atmosphere. The
absorbent is regenerated. The other absorber is like this, again and again.

VPSA oxygen generation plant has similar working principle to PSA method. They both uses the
characteristics of adsorbent molecular sieve to separate nitrogen and get oxygen. The difference is PSA
has pressurized adsorption (0.2~0.6Mpa), atmospheric desorption. And VPSA has adsorption under
atmosphere or slightly above atmospheric pressure (0 ~ 50Kpa), vacuum pump desorption (-50 ~
-80Kpa).

2 N2 making machines
Presently there are some kinds of nitrogen making machines with nitrogen purities from 95% to
99.9999%. Mostly they can get high purity up to 99.9% or above. They have their advantages in certain
usages and applications.

Cryogenic N2 plant

PSA N2 generator
PSA means Pressure Swing Adsorption. This On Site PSA nitrogen generator is based on following

Membrane nitrogen generator
Due to permeability differences of each gas, when compressed air goes through the membrane units,
oxygen passes through membrane walls to atmosphere, while nitrogen is collected at outlet as a
product gas. Higher pressure leads to higher permeability of each gas.

VPSA N2 generator
VPSA or called VSA means Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption. It has similar working principle to PSA
method. They both uses the characteristics of adsorbent molecular sieve to separate nitrogen and get
oxygen. The difference is PSA has pressurized adsorption (0.2-0.6Mpa), atmospheric desorption, while
VPSA method has adsorption under atmosphere or slightly above atmospheric pressure, vacuum below
atmospheric pump desorption.

Liquid N2 plant
On site liquid nitrogen generation plant makes it possible for customers not to purchase liquid
nitrogen LN2,and saves troubles of its transport, evaporation loss, carrying dangers etc.

After the machine is connected well with power source and cooling water, firstly it starts with gaseous
nitrogen being generated by PSA nitrogen generator with not more than 1.0% oxygen content, which
takes approximately 30 minutes. Or using a small membrane nitrogen generator with faster output.
Secondly nitrogen gas is cooled to -196°C to become liquid nitrogen with helium compressor / cold-
head working together which takes around 4 hours.

Liquid nitrogen is produced at the flow specified per day until the storage vessel is full. Then liquid
nitrogen plant will go into standby mode and will automatically restart once the storage volume drops
to pre-set level.

The control unit shows the user all the useful information including flow process, alarms, trend curves
and so on to ensure continuous nitrogen supply.

3 H2 machines & CO2 machines

Electrolysis H2 generator
The working principle of the electrolysis hydrogen gas generator is based on electrolysis method.
When direct current is applied to an electrolytic cell filled with the electrolyte, the water molecules
undergo an electrochemical reaction on the electrode, being separated into hydrogen and oxygen.
Then through coolers and separators hydrogen and oxygen are separated, hydrogen being as product
gas while oxygen being as waste to atmosphere.

The chemical reaction formula is 2H2O=2H2↑+ O2↑

Ammonia decomposition H2 generator
The ammonia decomposition type hydrogen generator takes liquid ammonia as the raw material,
decompresses through the liquid ammonia pressure reducing valve, vaporizes in the carburetor
and enters the decomposition furnace, decomposes at the temperature of 800°C -850°C. After
decomposition, the high-temperature gas conducts heat exchange with gaseous ammonia in the heat
exchanger, decomposes the gas to cool down, and the gas ammonia recovers the heat and enters the
decomposition furnace after heating up. Then a mixture of 75% hydrogen and 25% nitrogen is made.
The mixture enters the gas purification system to remove residual water and other impurities, and
finally clean hydrogen gas is output.

The chemical reaction formula is 2NH3→3H2+N2-O2

4 CO2 machines
This CO2 generation plant is based on materials HCl and CaCO3. Carbon dioxide CO2 generator system
takes hydrochloric acid HCl and calcium carbonate CaCO3 as raw materials. They are put into carbon
dioxide (CO2) generator where CO2 and high purity solution CaCl2 are generated. Then after a series
of purification and filtration to remove moisture, oil vapor, impurities clean pure CO2 is available before
through refrigerator cryogenic liquid CO2 is generated and stored in CO2 storage tank.

For the solution Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) it can be insolated and evaporated to generate Calcium
chloride dihydrate (CaCl2·2H2O) or liquid CaCl2 to be used for snow melt agent or other applications.
By vacuum dryer high value dryer CaCl2 can be generated for more industries.

Chemical reaction formula is as below:


NH4HCO3+HCl=NH4Cl+H2O+CO2↑
CaCO3+2HCl==H2O+CaCl2+CO2↑
