My goal is to become a well-rounded art teacher. I have a student-centered approach to my teaching. I

want to engage the students’ minds and imaginations, so I will focus on what I think my students will be
most interested in learning. I will create a balance between freedom and discipline. My lessons will have
aspects of social issues, pop culture, art history and formal art disciplines, such as the elements and
principles of design. I want students to leave my art class feeling as though they can take what they’ve
learned and apply it for the rest of their lives.

EDUCATION

JUNE 2014
HIGH SCHOOL, CANTON HIGH SCHOOL
I received the art cord for my graduating class. I also received art awards in my Junior and Senior
years. I was also featured in my school’s annual art show my junior and senior years.

MAY 2017
TRANSFERED, TUNXIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE
I maintained a 4.0 GPA through my time at Tunxis. I received a fine arts scholar ship, a
photography award and was featured in the school juried art show for 2 years in a row. I also
was able to be in an art show set up by one of my professors, we set it up both at the school and
the West Hartford Art Leagues building.

EXPERIENCE
JUNE 2012 – AUGUST 2017
CAMP COUNSELOR, FARMINGTON FARMS TENNIS AND ATHLETICS CLUB
I was a camp counselor at a summer camp from the age of 15 to 21. I was required to watch
between 7-20 campers daily. The age group I was assigned was 9-13 years old. Daily activities
included tennis lessons, arts and crafts, gym time and swimming lessons. I had to make sure kids
where behaving, following directions, staying safe, and having fun.

SEPTEMBER 2017 – DECEMBER 2019

SERVER, VINES WINE BAR
I was a server at Vines Wine Bar in Parker. I am required to thoroughly know over 50 different
wines and understand food pairing. I interact with people during my whole shift. I have to listen
to them and respond in a positive manner in order to get them exactly what they need. I know
how to correct mistakes and make sure every guest leaves happy. Although this is not a job
where I am a teacher; this job is an excellent way to learn how to problem solve and to make
sure I can work with the parents of my students in a positive, helpful way.

DECEMBER 2019 – CURRENT

SERVER, LASZLO HOTEL
I am currently a waitress at the Laszlo Hotel Restaurants. The restaurant is high class and has
three different venues where we are required to know many different menus and pairings. I
work to please guests and to make sure everyone is enjoying the Laszlo experience. Problem
solving and quickly adapting to new situations are essential skills needed for this job.

JANUARY 2020 – MAY 2020

STUDENT TEACHER, MAMMOTH HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY AND CIMARRON MIDDLE
SCHOOL, DOUGLUS COUNTY
I started off my student teaching at Mammoth Heights teaching grades k-6. There was a 4-week
rotation so every week I saw different kids. My 8 weeks there flew by and it was a great
experience being able to see so many age groups. When I started my student teaching at
Cimarron I spent 2 weeks in the classroom and then schools shut down due to Covid-19 so I
spent the next 6 weeks creating online learning lessons for my 6-8 th graders. This was a great
learning opportunity and a perfect time to dip my feet in unconventional teaching methods.
