Work & Volunteer Experience

Cheyenne Traditional School
Art Teacher (k-8)
January 2021-Current
At Cheyenne Traditional School I teach art (2-D and 3-D) with direct instruction, discipline-
based art instruction, essential elements of instruction in my lesson planning, and manage my
classroom with positive reinforcement, equity, and conscious discipline. I teach and have taught
ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, digital and multi-media arts. I plan and teach six
unique lessons a day that explore different media, appreciate art history and criticism, cover
visual arts standards, interdisciplinary (math, science, and reading) and engages with my students
social and emotional learning teaching technical and critical art skills.
Central High School
Resident Teacher
Aug 2020 – December 2020
Co-taught high school art remotely full time with my mentor teacher. My responsibilities are
grading, preparing lesson, engagement, support, classroom management, facilitating and
teaching lessons virtually on multiple art mediums and topics. I taught Explorations Art 1-2,
Explorations Art 3-4, and Explorations Art 5-6 on Microsoft TEAM’s for 90 minutes every day.
In class we covered a wide variety of mediums both 3-D and 2-D, the creative process, digital
literacy, and created meaningful and personally relevant artwork. Teaching virtually during a
pandemic is challenging, but I believe this experience has shown my flexibility, adaptability, and
openness to change and learn.

Sep 2019 - Dec 2019 (4 months) Tempe, AZ
I taught printmaking and drawing at the Children's Art Workshop during the fall 2019 semester. I
taught children between ages 7-15 how to use a printing press, printmaking, and drawing
techniques, and apply art history to contemporary art. In printmaking we practiced planned and
deliberate art making, TAB, and environmentally sustainable art.
