Content

In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to sort and circle
nouns and learn about categorizing nouns.
Pedagogy Planning

Activity 1. The teacher will instruct the students to come to the carpet during the
language arts block.
2. The teacher will inform the students they will be reviewing the part of
speech which is a noun.
3. The teacher will ask the students to raise their hand to give the class an
example of a noun.
4. The students will raise their hand to give the class examples of nouns.
5. The teacher will review the qualifications for nouns with the students. The
teacher will turn on the SmartBoard and open the activity in SMART
Notebook Express.
6. The teacher will read the first slide to the students. Then the teacher will
have the students read the definition together by pointing to each word and
asking the students to read.
7. The teacher will go to the next slide on the SMART Notebook Express.
Pedagogy

8. The teacher will read the instructions on Slide #2 to the students.

9. The teacher will ask the students to come to the Smartboard to circle
pictures of the nouns.
 10. The students will take turns circling the pictures of the nouns and saying the
name of the nouns on the SmartBoard.
11. The teacher will go through each slide, having the students take turns
coming to the Smartboard to circle the nouns and pictures, click on the
pictures of the nouns, and name the nouns.
12. The teacher will ask the students to recall some examples of nouns that
were shown throughout the activity.
13. The students will share examples of nouns that were named and circled
throughout the activity.
14. The teacher will review the definition of a noun with the students.
15. The teacher will answer all questions the students have related to or
unrelated to the activity.
