Justification of Balance sheet based on Information Matrix

Strategic level managers take all decision regarding the long-term goals of organization. They
make decision on which new categories & products company need to venture in. They set targets
for sales to be achieved, return on investment required. They also analyze past year balance sheet
and Profit & Loss statement to analyze the performance of past decisions and to make corrective
actions if required. It also helps in ascertainment of current position of the company. Based on
these analysis additional investment decision and source to fund these additional investment is
decided. These decision will affect balance sheet as a whole i.e. it will have an impact on long
term debt, Noncurrent assets of firm.

Tactical layer works according to direction given by strategic apex. They make buy or produce
decision for firm. They analyze the business environment, market and determine the demand and

try to match features of product in accordance to market. They determine what wants of
consumers are and take decision accordingly to maximize market share. The entries such closing
and opening stock, Cash, Prepaid expenses, Sales are dependent on decision by middle level
managers.

Operational level managers deal with day to day operations of the business. They work according
to direction received from Strategic and Tactical level managers. They ensure smooth functioning
of business and coordinates day to day operations of the company. In terms of balance sheet the
performance of this level have an impact on short term payable & receivable of firm along with an
impact on sales.
