GUMART

Waterproof, elastic coating, long-lasting during use.

New generation.

MAIN USES
Continuous waterproofing, without welding, on horizontal and vertical outside surfaces.
It can be employed on all classes of roofs, fibre-cement roofs, new and old ceilings, as well as for waterproofing and sealing,
for small areas (cracks, fissures, joints and drainpipes) and also large areas (ceilings and terraces).
For use on façades, party walls, foundations, drainpipes, water collectors, porous tiles (with prior treatment of corrosion with
PREARTIGUM ), asphalt or bituminous multi-layers.

PROPERTIES
Waterproof, transpirable and strong adhesion to the substrate. Flexible at extreme temperatures (- 10ºC to + 80ºC). Non-toxic
and self-extinguishing. Fungicide and anti-mould. Smooth, fine texture paste that is easily applied. Unalterable colours when
used outside.

Provides protection and waterproofing to insulation, such as rigid polyurethane, polystyrene etc, together with other sensitive
materials or those degradable by coating with solvents.

COMPOSITION
Saturated polyesters, free from plasticisers
NEW GENERATION product that does present any of the usual ageing problems with loss of its characteristics of waterproofing,
elastic and resistance to outside conditions.

APPLICATION TECHNICAL INFORMATION

.Product is ready to use.
Dilution ...........................................................................................
.Wash stains and tools with water before they dry.
Cleaning solvent ...........................................................................................
Once dry, they have to be eliminated mechanically by stripping or scraping, with help
from hot water or acetone.
.0.750 kg / m 2
Consumption ...........................................................................................

.Brush, roller, Airless gun, trowel

Application methods ...........................................................................................

In certain applications, air guns may be employed with prior 20% dilution of the
GUMART with water. The obtained thickness will be reduced and several layers will be
necessary to obtain effective waterproofing (three layers minimum).

Application conditions:
.Clean and dry, free from dust and grease.
Substrates ...........................................................................................
.Do not apply if rain is expected during the three hours after application.
Environmental ...........................................................................................

The product loses its colour and softens with loss of its characteristics.

Temperature ...........................................................................................
5ºC minimum, 40ºC maximum
Relative humidity ...........................................................................................
60% minimum, 90% maximum
Special surfaces: . Thickness Estimated consumption Number of layers Total consumption
mm. kg / m2 - layer kg / m2

. 1 0.750 - 1
Terraces and roofs .................................................................................. 2 1.5 - 2
. 0.5 0.75 1
Acoustic insulation in frames ........................................................................................... 0.75
. 0.35 0.350 - 0.400
Façades and party walls ........................................................................................... 2 0.6 - 0.8

When ARTIMAT is employed as a reinforced "sandwich" layer, the total quantities on terrace and roof layers are sufficient.

Vertical surfaces require reinforcement with an extra layer of 0.300 kg / m2.

SUBSTRATES CONDITIONS AND TREATMENTS

.Any construction material that requires an easy waterproofing system.
Surface types ...........................................................................................

Compatibility with other coats:

.Directly, according to substrate type, or on top of PREARTIGUM.
Previous coats ...........................................................................................
Eliminate old soft paint.
Cover defects in hard paints until total uniformity is achieved.
.It can be left as a finish that is eventually walkable.
Subsequent coats ...........................................................................................
For light walkability (persons without hard footwear), finish with one or two coats of
ARTIGUM TOP.

It is not suitable for heavy wheeled traffic or trolleys or mobile mechanical elements.

Surface preparation
Very hard construction materials, with little pore structure:
Descale with ACIART until the pore structure is open, wash with water, allow to dry and then apply a coat of PREARTIGUM.
Façades with uniform float finishes:
Directly apply GUMART.
Aluminium, galvanised metal sheet, fabric, cardboard, porous materials :
Directly apply GUMART, after degreasing and cleaning.
