Q. Why were Jouline’s parents skeptical about coliving? What can be done
to relieve their worries?

Jouline’s parents were skeptical about co-living because

• They were from a small town of Kerala and they might have never visited big cities like
Bangalore. Small town people will be little skeptical about the living places and the
safety.
• Co-living spaces are mostly Unisex which has both males and females living in the
same building. This is still not acceptable in the small towns in India.
• Local property dealers also mislead and charge brokerage.
• Food is another major issue that from where the hygienic food will come.
To relieve her parents following things can be done: -
• Zolo properties pics can be shown to parents to convience them for the quality provided.
• Food problems will be solved by Zolo team as many properties have daily food service.

SWOT Analysis
A. Strengths:
• Zolo is India’s first provider of managed co-living spaces specially PG & Hostel
where you can live hassle-free.
• Helps students and singles find accommodation with food
• Zolo already provides services like Food, Wi-Fi , TV , AC , Parking , Drinking
Water , Housekeeping all-inclusive of rent.
B. Weaknesses:
• Very less profits
• Maintenance charges are high
• Caretakers are mostly uneducated and needs to be chosen correctly
• Tenants damage the property
C. Opportunities:
The paying guest market in India is largely unorganized, with a huge gap in affordable
living space. The PG & hostels market is estimated to be about $40 billion in India, and
the market is growing at 16-18 % pa. Hence the opportunity needs to be exploited
properly.
D. Threats:
With lowered barriers to entry, lots of organized PG & Hostel are coming up which
provide better service than ZoloStays. Also, it has threat from its competitors like
Nestaway, Homigo, CoHo, Stanza , Comfystays & StayAbode.

• CoHo is the top competitor of Zolo. CoHo is a Private company that was founded
in New Delhi, Delhi in 2015. CoHo operates in the Rental Services industry.
• StayAbode is seen as one of Zolo's biggest rivals. StayAbode was founded in
Bangalore, Karnataka} in 2016. StayAbode is in the Facilities Management
Services field. Compared to Zolo, StayAbode generates $5.2M less revenue.
• Colive is perceived as one of Zolo's biggest rivals. Colive was founded in 2016,
and is headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. Like Zolo, Colive also operates in
the Real Estate Services sector. Colive generates $4.6M less revenue vs. Zolo.
