D: Solving Exponential Equations MCR3

THEORY

Exponential equations have the variable in the exponent. For example, 2 x =32

Key: When you have the same base on each side and no other terms, you remove the bases.

e.g. 1. 2 y =210− y e.g. 2. 7 x =343

e.g. 3. 53 x−2 =(5¿¿ 2)x+1 ¿ e.g. 4. 2(5¿¿ x−3)=50¿

e.g. 5. 27 x =9 2 x−1 e.g. 6. 83 x−2=16 x+1
