Many decisions have been made by Cole Matthews.

Whether he decides to change or stay the

same person he is. One decision he makes, is when he decides that he wants to attack the bear
just in order to look strong. Although this decision makes Cole the same angry person he was
before, it results differently and changes him. This is on page 59 when Cole see the spirit bear.
The text says, ”’You maggot!’ Cole yelled, leaping to his feet.’I’ll kill you!’” Throughout the story
Cole remained an angry person and this shows that he decides to stay the same because he
has no reason to kill the bear but he doesn’t value its life so he wants to kill it. This decision
resulted in the bear attacking him and causing Cole to get serious injuries and fall unconscious.
This decision finally ended up in changing Cole even though that’s not what he planned. After
coming out of his unconsciousness, he then saw the world as beautiful place and soon later
decided to tell the truth. As you can see, even though Cole decided to stay the same, his action
resulted into things which caused him to change.
