SPEECH REPORT

By Franco Catalán, TURM

Hi Miss! In this presentation, I wilI to answer the questions that you gave us for this activitie. Well,
let’s start.

I live in Santiago de Chile. This city is located in the Region Metropolitana, between O’higgins
Region and Valparaiso Region. The city has an estimated area of 15.500 km 2, and has 52
communes. This city is the most inhabited in Chile.

My hometown is relatively quiet, but other communes can really be noisy. The climate in the
summer is so hot than the pools are always crowded. If the people ask me which place to visit,
probably I would answer them Cerro San Cristobal. It is a hill with a lot of vegetation that offers a
spectacular view of Santiago. Also, it has a Zoo, which is a great place to visit in family.

I said before that the climate in the summer is very hot. On the other hand, the climate in the
winter is very cold. It is so cold that we need to use a heater for several hours. Also, it don't rain
much here, so the climate is very arid the most part of the time.

In my city, there is a number of historical monuments and buildings, such as the Palacio de la
Moneda, the monument of General Baquedano, or the Teatro Municipal de Santiago. In my
opinion, the last one is the most recognized.

The best things that this city offers are the ammount of places to visit. It offers more places than
other cities of the country. We can view a part of the history of the country, or visit a place for fun.
However, the polluted air , the noise and the rhythm of life is too much for me. I don't really like
living here. I prefer more quiet places with clean air.
