THE ELEPHANT MAN: Chapter 1

Frederick Treves was a doctor and he worked in London hospital. One day when he was
walking, he saw a picture in a shop near the hospital, but this picture was different because
there was a man with different factions in comparison to a normal human. The doctor was
very surprised, so he decided to enter to the shop.

When Dr Treves entered to the shop there was an unwashed man. Treves had read in the
picture that an elephant man was there so he asked to the man if he could see that creature,
the man answered him that the shop was closed but the next day was going to be open. The
next day Frederick Treves had a lot of work, so he decided to suborn the man by giving him
12 more pence. The unwashed man had a happy smile in his face because he had earned 12
pence with just one person. After a few minutes they entered a small room, in that room
there was a table and a very rare creature, the man called him Merrick.

The doctor Treves felt sad to see the creature, the elephant man looked horrible and wore
old trousers, but he did not wear shirt. His body was very peculiar. He had a lot of skin in
his face, his face looked like an elephant without emotions. The doctor looked at his body
and he see that his right arm was very big, and the left arm was beautiful, it looked great.
His legs were too fat, and the creature could not walk well.

After they went out of the small room, the doctor felt bad since the elephant man room
smelled bad, the dirty man offered him a glass of water but Treves was impacted by the
aspect of this place so he decided to tell him that he did not want a glass of water. The
name of the dirty man was Simon Silcock, he started to showing off that he had the best
Elephant man in England and he also told the doctor every week The elephant man and
Silcock moved to a different city because people did not like the look of the elephant man
and children always beat him.

Dr Frederick Treves wanted to check him more carefully so he proposed ton Silcock to take
the elephant man to the Hospital but they had to take a cab to be able to bring the elephant
man.
