Discussion Question:

Carl Rogers believed that a person’s conflicts can be resolved if he receives unconditional
positive regard from another person.

Answer. Yes I agree with the notion.

Giving unconditional positive regard helps in exhibiting real self of the person instead of only
socially acceptable face of person. As Dr Zaki Akhtar said “unconditional positive regard is first
psychological aid immediately should be given to aggrieved person who is stressed out”.

AS Carl Roger said ,”we think, we listen but very rarely do we listen with real understanding and
True empathy yet listening of this very special kind is one of the most potent forces for change
that I know”

An attitude of total acceptance toward another person despite their faults and failings leads to
high self esteem and confidence in one self.

An unconditional positive regard can resolve a person’s problems because a person is not a static entity.
A man is a flowing river of change , not a block of solid material

If we give unconditional positive regard to a person, he does not feel judged so he can explore
and explain conflicts of his inner self.If he can explain his emotions without any fear, he will feel
more sense of responsibility.
