(IA) of 1 lakh rifles come directly from Russia, remaining 6.5 lakh rifles
will be manufactured by Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited
(IRRPL), at Amethi district’s Korwa town in Uttar Pradesh. IRRPL is
a joint-venture of the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) of India and

India Bangladesh In the field of Information and Broadcasting along with content
exchange programme between All India Radio (AIR) and
Bangladesh Radio Betar, during the Information and Broadcasting
Ministers meet 2020 in New Delhi. India and Bangladesh is also co-
producing a biopic of “BangaBandhu”, Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, the
first President of Bangladesh, which will be released during his
birth centenary, March 17, 2020. Bangladesh will celebrate the
“Mujib Year” from March 17, 2020 to March 17 2021.

India Bangladesh Have signed an agreement to upgrade the 50.58 kilometer long
Ashuganj-Akhaura road into a 4-lane highway. The road runs
between Ashuganj river port and the Akhaura land port in
Bangladesh. The road project is part of the $2 billion second Line of
Credit(LoC) extended by India to Bangladesh in 2016. Roads and
Highways Department (RHD) of Bangladesh and Afcons
Infrastructure Limited of India will upgrade 39 km long road
between Ashuganj river port to Dharhar area of Chattisgarh.

manufacturing (AM) business of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering
(WIN), to jointly design, develop and manufacture aerospace
components using metal additive technology (Three Dimensional
(3D) printing).
Indian Institute of Indian Space To establish an Optical telescope under ‘Project NETRA’ (NEtwork
Astrophysics (IIA) Research for space object TRacking and Analysis) for tracking space objects. A
Organisation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ISRO and IIA was
(ISRO) signed by ISRO scientific secretary R.Umamaheswaran and IIA
director Annapurni Subramanium during a meet in Bengaluru,
Karnataka. Project Netra was launched by ISRO in September 2019

(NPA) of Manager (LPG), Indian Oil signed MoU. The purpose of this MoU is
Ghana Oil to strengthen cooperation between the Parties in the petroleum
Regulator field specifically LPG. The Indian Oil will support the NPA on
successful implementation of the Re-circulation Model (CRM) of
LPG.

EC of India and Mauritius renewed MoU on cooperation in electoral management

On January 08, 2020 the Election Commission of India(ECI) has renewed its Memorandum of
Understanding(MoU) on cooperation in the field of electoral management with the electoral
commission of Mauritius. The renewal was done at Port Louis of Mauritius and was signed by India’s
Chief Election Commissioner(CEC) Sunil Arora and Mohammed Irfan Abdool Rahman, Electoral
Commissioner of Mauritius.

HM Amit Shah signs historic Bru-Reang refugee agreement in New Delhi; around 34,000 refugees to be
settled in Tripura
Union Minister for Home Affairs (HM), Shri Amit Shah has presided over the signing of a quadripartite
agreement between the central government and state Governments of Tripura, Mizoram and
representatives of the Bru tribe in New Delhi to end 23-year old Bru-Reang refugee crisis. As per the
new agreement, about 34,000 Bru refugees will be inhabited in Tripura and assisted by central
government with its allocated budget of Rs 600 crores to help in their resettlement. Read full details

The agreements were led by Anni Line Wold, Norway Director-General,
Norwegian Ministry of Education & Research and witnessed by Hans
Jacob Frydenlund Norwegian Ambassador to India at New Delhi, India.

India Maldives To establish Addu tourism Zone on 5 islands of Addu Atoll in Maldives
with a project cost of $2.49 million. In addition, 6th MoU to set up a
bottled water plant at Hoarafushi, an inhabited island in Maldives was
also signed. All 6 projects will be granted under India’s High Impact
Community Development Scheme (HICDP), which was signed during the
visit of Former External Affairs Minister late Sushma Swaraj to Male in
March 2019.

India Myanmar For regular passenger bus service between Imphal and Mandalay. The
bus service will begin in April 2020. The MOU was signed between the
two firms namely Shwe Mandalar Express Company limited,
Yangoon & Seven Sisters Holiday, Imphal. Bus service from Mandalay will
end at the border of Tamu from there Indian bus operators will take
passengers to Moreh town in Manipur.

with Norway’s Minister for Climate and Environment, H.E. Mr Sveinung Rotevatn have jointly
inaugurated the ‘India-Norway Task Force on Blue Economy for Sustainable Development’ at the
3rd meeting of the Task Force in New Delhi, India. The 2 countries also signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) &
agreed to support and work together on Integrated Ocean Management & Research.

MoU signed between NMCG, (SPMG-UK) & ICT to renovate Ghats at Gangotri & Badrinath
Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding ( Mou) was signed between the National Mission for Clean
Ganga(NMCG),State Program Management Group-Uttarakhand (SPMG-UK) & Indorama Charitable
Trust (ICT) at New Delhi to renovate Ghats at Badrinath & Ghats & Crematoria at Gangotri in
Uttarakhand. The total cost of the project is 26.64 Crore. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) is
developed by M/S WAPCOS a Government of India enterprise. The 15 months work is to start by March
2020. The duration of the MoU is 7 years.

Cabinet approved three MoUs with Myanmar

The Union Cabinet approved 3 MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) for cooperation
between India and Myanmar on combating timber trafficking, conservation of tigers & other wildlife,
and in the fields of petroleum products and communications. India will also provide training to
Myanmar officials and Mou on petroleum products for setting up a joint working group in the
petroleum sector.

National Fertilizers Training Institutes Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) works under the Ministry of

vendors, under the scheme the vendors can avail a working
capital loan of up to Rs. 10,000, which is repayable in monthly
instalments in the tenure of one year.

Serum Institute of India signed supply agreement with UNICEF to supply pneumonia vaccine to
low-income countries
The Pune based Serum Institute of India (SII) signed a new supply agreement with United Nations
Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Vaccine alliance Gavi’s procurement partner to supply Pneumococcal
Conjugate Vaccine to low income countries all over the world. Under the agreement, SII will provide
around 10 million doses of PCV to the lower income countries for the next 10 years for $2 per dose.
