Codex Feral Orks

This codex is based off the original Feral Orks codex, with updates to take into account
the changes to the new ork codex’s layout and the new units, so that players of the old
Feral Orks army can play with a proper army of them in 5th ed. In this version only the
units that would use shooting as their primary form of attack get a BS bonus, whereas
those that operate in a purely assault capacity have the standard ork profile. There are
various other changes too, such as the way that booby traps work and the absence of
krak stikkbombz that necessitated more modification to the army list than I normally do. I
also made the madboyz more mad, since in their original incarnation they were only mad
for an average of 1 turn each game, which is pretty tame by ork standards. Note that I
haven’t included gargantuan squiggoths as these are now gargantuan creatures and so
are limited to apocalypse or special scenarios.

If you can’t find the profile from imperial armour update 2006 anywhere, the
medium-sized squiggoths from the old feral orks codex bear a close resemblance.

These units can be fielded by mixing Warhammer Orcs and 40k Orks. Don’t forget to
use 40k bases for all models though.

Allies:​ Treat as Orks when determining which allies may be taken.

Wargear:

Bangstikks: Gives 4+2D6 penetration against vehicles. One use only.

Boar: Counts as cavalry.

Cyboar: Counts as cavalry, and gains +1 Toughness and +1 Attack.

Flash Furs: The unit counts as having a Waaagh! Banner.

HQ
HQ: Old Zogwort

HQ: Warboss

Same as codex orks (p97) except that:

May not take mega armour or warbike.

May replace the slugga with a bangstikk for +10 points if riding a boar or cyboar.

May ride either a boar for +10pts, or a cyboar for +25pts.

HQ: Weirdboy

Same as codex orks (p97) except that:

Has WS 3 & BS 3.

Costs 60pts.

ELITES

Elites: Nobz

Same as codex orks (p98) except that:

May not take warbikes, power klaws or a battlewagon.

May ride either boars for +5pts/model, or cyboars for +15pts/model.

May replace their sluggas with big shootas for +5pts, rokkit launchas or bangstikks (if
riding a boar or cyboar) for +10pts, or burnas for +15pts.

May not include painboys.

Elites: Trappas

Same as kommandos from codex orks (p99) except that:

They have WS 3 & BS 3 (apart from the nob).


Have Booby Traps (treat as cluster mines from p67 of the space marine codex).

The squad may be given flash furs for +15pts.

May not replace their sluggas and choppas with weapon upgrades, but may swap them
for shootas for free.

The Nob cannot be given a power klaw, but may replace his slugga or shoota with a big
shoota for +5pts, rokkit launcha for +10pts, or burna for +15pts.

May not include Boss Snikrot.

Elites: Tankbustas

Same as codex orks (p99) except that:

They cost 8pts/model.

They are armed with tankbusta bombz and either a shoota or slugga and choppa instead
of a rokkit launcha.

They aren’t Glory Hogs.

May have up to 5 bomb squigs.

Tankhammas cost +10 points each and replace the shoota or slugga.

The Nob cannot be given a power klaw, but may replace his slugga or shoota with a big
shoota for +5pts, rokkit launcha for +10pts, or burna for +15pts.

Elites: Lootas

Same as codex orks (p99) except that:

Cost 18 pts/model.

They have WS 3 & BS 3 (apart from the nob).

May not include meks.


TROOPS

Troops: Huntas

Same as ork boyz from codex orks (p100) except that:

They have WS 3 & BS 3 (apart from the nob).

May not have a transport.

May not replace their sluggas and choppas with weapon upgrades.

May not be upgraded to ‘Ard Boyz.

The Nob cannot be given a power klaw, but may replace his slugga or shoota with a big
shoota for +5pts, rokkit launcha for +10pts, or burna for +15pts.

Troops: Wildboyz

Same as ork boyz from codex orks (p100) except that:

They cost 5 pts/model.

May not have a transport.

They are only armed with 2 choppas, which may not replaced by weapon upgrades.

May not be upgraded to ‘Ard Boyz.

The Nob cannot be given a power klaw, but may replace his slugga or shoota with a big
shoota for +5pts, rokkit launcha for +10pts, or burna for +15pts.

Troops: Gretchin

Troops: Madboyz

Same as ork boyz from codex orks (p100) except that:

May not have a transport.


May not replace their sluggas and choppas with weapon upgrades.

May not be upgraded to ‘Ard Boyz.

The Nob cannot be given a power klaw, but may replace his slugga or shoota with a big
shoota for +5pts, rokkit launcha for +10pts, or burna for +15pts.

Unless in close combat, madboyz need to roll on the disturbed behaviour table at the
start of each turn and apply the results until the start of the next turn.

1 I kan fly! Nyaaaaooowww! The unit moves D6″ in a random direction and neither
shoots nor assaults. If this movement takes them into
combat treat it as a charge (or strafing run from their
point of view). The unit also gains the Hit & Run rule.

2 It’z dangerus out ‘ere! The unit moves as fast as possible towards the nearest
cover and then goes to ground. If this movement takes
them into combat treat it as a charge and the unit does
not go to ground.

3- Under control (for now). None.

5 Dey’s wearin’ yellah! I The unit gains the Rage and Preferred Enemy rules.

6 Oi’m invinc.. invul… er…… The unit gains the Fearless and Feel No Pain rules.

FAST ATTACK

Fast Attack: Boarboyz

Same as ork boyz from codex orks (p100) except that:

They cost 9 pts/model.


They are cavalry.

May not have a transport.

They are armed with a choppa and slugga, which may not replaced by weapon
upgrades.

May replace the slugga with a bangstikk for +5 points/model.

The Nob cannot be given a power klaw, but may replace his slugga or shoota with a big
shoota for +5pts, rokkit launcha for +10pts, or burna for +15pts.

Fast Attack: Herda

Same as gretchin from codex orks (p100) except that:

Instead of containing gretchin they contain squighounds, costing 4 pts/model.

Squighounds have the following profile:

Fast Attack: Junkas

Same as ork boyz from codex orks (p100) except that:

Must be given a trukk.

Maximum squad size is 12.

Have WS 3 & BS 3 (apart from the nob).

May not replace their sluggas or shootas with weapon upgrades.

May not be upgraded to ‘Ard Boyz.

The Nob cannot be given a power klaw, but may replace his slugga or shoota with a big
shoota for +5pts, rokkit launcha for +10pts, or burna for +15pts.
HEAVY SUPPORT

Heavy Support: Big Squiggoths

Same as from imperial armour update 2006 (p13) except that:

1-3 may be taken as a single Heavy Support choice.

They cost 55 points/model.

Have BS 3.

Heavy Support: Lobbas

Same as big gunz from codex orks (p103) except that:

All big gunz must be lobbas.

Heavy Support: Looted Wagon

Same as codex orks (p101) except that:

Costs 40pts.

Has BS 3.

TRANSPORT

Dedicated Transport Vehicle: Trukk

Same as codex orks (p96) except that:

Costs 40pts.

Has BS 3.

May replace big shoota with burna for +5 points.
