Founded in 1851, Bank of the Philippine Islands is the first bank in
the Philippines and in the Southeast Asian region. BPI is a universal bank
and together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, it offers a wide range of
financial products and solutions that serve both retail and corporate
clients.

Kong and Europe, and close to 3,000 ATMs and CDMs (cash deposit

The establishment of BPI, originally known as El Banco Espanyol

Filipino de Isabel II, ushered in the start of the Philippine banking and
finance industry. The bank performed many functions, from providing
credit to the National Treasury to printing and issuing currency, making it
in effect the country's first Central Bank. BPI proudly carries on this
tradition, financing many private and public sector initiatives and
enterprises in support of economic growth and nation building.
BPI is acknowledged as a leading provider of financial services in
the Philippines.

What is INCOME STATEMENT?
Income statement
An income statement or profit and loss account is one of the
financial statements of a company and shows the company’s revenues
and expenses during a particular period. It indicates how the revenues are
transformed into the net income or net profit.
An income statement is one of the three important financial
statements used for reporting a company's financial performance over a
specific accounting period, with the other two key statements being
the balance sheet and the statement of cash flows. Also known as
the profit and loss statement or the statement of revenue and expense, the
income statement primarily focuses on the company’s revenues and
expenses during a particular period.

The income statement focuses on the four key items

- revenue, expenses, gains, and losses. It does not cover receipts (money
received by the business) or the cash payments/disbursements (money
paid by the business). It starts with the details of sales, and then works
down to compute the net income and eventually the earnings per share
(EPS). Essentially, it gives an account of how the net revenue realized by
the company gets transformed into net earnings (profit or loss).

Analysis:
The Gross Revenue year 2016 increase by 7,192 million or
12.12%. The Gross Expenses in year 2016 increase by 3,895 million or
10.87%. The Net Income Before Tax in year 2016 increase by 3,297
million or 14.02%. The Net Income After Tax in year 2016 increase by
3,900 million or 21.22%. The net income attributable to parent in year
2016 increase by 3,816 million or 20.93%. The Gross Revenue in year
2017 increase by 11,973 million or 17.99%. The Gross Expenses in year
2017 increase 8,784 million or 22.10%. The Net Income Before Tax in
year 2017 increase 3,189 or 11.89%. The Net Income After Tax in year
2017 increase by 1,084 million or 4.71%.

Conclusion:
Based on the data we gathered, we conclude that the bank doesn’t
show good performance because the expenses is higher than the revenue.
Even if the revenue is bigger than the previous years it will not show
good performance because their expenses is also bigger than their
previous years. It will show bad image for the investors and depositors.
