a bulk of profiles at one time (5-10 depending on your capacity). If you are

The LinkedIn profile has 14 sections/features. I first explain all the features with the best
practices and few suggestions. Then there is a cheat sheet. You will print the sheet
page and use it to check your progress for the profile optimization.

Let us make your profile one of the best.

We take one by one.

Profile Picture

A complete and effective profile has a profile photo. Profiles with a photo get 21X more
views.

On LinkedIn, a smiling professional photo is right to put.

Professional photographers can give better LinkedIn photo if you invest in their service.

Cover Image

The cover is on top so the best place to brand you. I recommend you use cover image
few use it.

I think in the age of hashtags put few words you feel fits your personality. Put a few
words and follow it on the headline.

How about

“Profit Achiever” if you want a marketing job.

2
You can make a cover image free at canva.com with the LinkedIn banner template.

Current Position

You should list a current position because it gets more profile views. Most recruiters
search using job titles.

People connect with position, and you also should put your post.

Headline

You know the Headline is 80% responsible for a reading of your profile. You must put a
compelling headline. A headline is the main content about a professional that others see
on the site. It’s the top branding line.

What should you tell first about your prospects?

Your prospects for a business person are customers and pros seeking career
opportunities are recruiters, hiring managers, and companies. Their interest is to know
what you offer them.

How about a headline,

“I grow 32% market share for four companies in last 16 years. I am ‘Profit Achiever’ and
open to a new challenge. Let us Talk.”

Use the headline to extend you branding cover messaging ‘Profit Achiever.’

The headlines are to compel people to read further. It depends on the goal and what
you want to convey. You tell what you do for prospects and give results if possible.

Summary

A summary is to introduce you. It’s the #1 section people look.

Your summary is you talk yourself.

The summary is to sell. You must project ‘You are the best.’

Remember you have a purpose for a profile. As a job seeker, your summary must
convince recruiters, hiring managers and companies. They should call you, message
you. You should tell what you give to them.

Say a success story. Success and results always loved by prospects.

You must say your successes, results, money saved, cost reduced, problem solved,
initiatives, etc. See hiring managers are interested in results, action takers, and doers.

3
I always have

1. Headline

2. Story

3. Branding Statement

Your profile summary can have branding statement. It should read like it fulfills the
company’s job requirements.

See example and create your useful summary.

Branding Statement

Example: Branding statement for a career coach.

‘We work with candidates and build their career plan to achieve results. The results
never expected by them. IT, Tech, Engineering, Medical, and Sales are our focus and
gets success.’

I use a few bullets and a branding statement in summary. Each summary is unique.

1. What you can contribute

2. How you did similar jobs with your experience

3. How successful you are in those functions

Remember summary is a prime estate. You have 2000 characters. Take advantage,
use it entirely. Let it work for you. It’s free.

Education

People connect with universities and colleges.

You must put your degrees and universities.

Location

Location helps connect you with relevant opportunities. Up-to-date location makes you
23x more likely to be discovered.

People always connect with places. You put your correct location.

Past positions

Job histories help people see your experience. You list experiences.

4
It is not enough, to get the most out of your profile, you should be creative. Listing
experience will not interest people to call you.

You have to interest them. I give one example. Your experience is the most important to
know you, so make it interesting. And you must provide results because performance
will convince prospects.

A story is the best way to tell your experience. See how I did it for a sales pro.

My 110%+ Goals Story: Cox Communications – Oklahoma City, Ok Account Manager

9/2013-5/2014

I am an aggressive seller and had goals in mind. To reach "Winner's Circle" I had to
average 110% to target throughout the year to be eligible for the Award, and that was
not always easy due to the competition. What I did differently? I did lots of secret
shopping on the competitors such as DirecTV, Dish Network, and AT&T to strategize
my sales technique. That made me trainer also.

• Responsible for the development and facilitation of various training topics for 20+
stores to ensure complete knowledge of products, services, and independent associate
development. I Gave sales training to all levels of employees.

• Responsible for prioritizing, identifying, and publishing the marketing and

educational content with all staff member associated one on one.

• Provide work direction and coaching to employees for career/personal

development.

• Handle day-to-day relationship management, cold calling, outside prospecting,

and maintenance of clients.

• Responsible for building customer relations.

• Meet and exceed sales goal.

Do you feel the difference between your list and Story?

Do you think the story will make a difference?

People will notice you differently. Do it.

Industry

5
Over 300,000 people search by industry on LinkedIn every week. When you list the right
industry, you are more likely to be discovered.

I hope you will select the correct industry while creating a profile. You can change it
anytime.

Skills

Skills show what you are great at. Those with 5 or more skills listed are contacted up to
31X more.

Three skills are visible, and after clicking, ‘See More’ tab more skills become visible to
visitors. The system puts three skills with the highest endorsements for the top. You can
choose the order. Choose top three to be visible relevant to your prospects. You can put
zero endorsed skill on top also. People tend to endorse what is sheen.

This skill feature is most ignored feature by pros but it is a factor, and interested people
won’t read your profile they comb it. So pay attention to small things.

Recommendations

A recommendation humanizes you.

Remember you have to ask for a recommendation. Ask for it.

Certifications

Certifications highlight your marketable skills.

Put your certificates.

Projects

Projects showcase your experience and highlight your abilities.

You can put your study, school-college and work projects. Make sure they are relevant.

It is better to fill out all the sections.

Interests

The interests are part of the profile which is generated automatically by the system.
Your activity will reflect here. Any comment you make, the post you like, people you
follow, etc. You can control it by unfollowing items you want not to show. It takes time to
reflect in profile.

Job Success

The LinkedIn profile will get you job leads. Recruiters call you, and they will ask for a
resume. Your resume must stand out. Otherwise, you will waste the lead and lose the
opportunity to start a job process.

I am a resume writer. Pros get success with my “You are the best fit” story resume.

Let me show you how you can be in recruiters and hiring managers list before they even
read your resume?

You will save your resume with a name I give which you agree during creation. See
why?

Nowadays you send resume via an email as an attachment. So file attached will be
shown as per the file name you saved it. It could be many things. I won't cite funny file
names but assume you gave your name, as most people do and your file will be visible
in an email

(Your Name) resume docx

Now think you will give the name as per the title I suggest, and I always give functional
names, your file name will be

(Your Name) zero defect production pro resume docx for a production position OR

(Your Name) sales achiever resume docx for a sales position

Think what will recruiter or hiring manager will feel when they see your resume for the
first time?

What will interest them? Your distinct, unique title or normal name resumes?

If you are not getting results, I can get your desired result in 30 days.

Send me your resume at mukesh@jobgettingresume.com

With the job link, you want to apply or if it is not decided yet tell the position you aspire. I
will show you how I will differentiate you and then decide your resume writer.
