I WILL BE A HERO

When I was young, I admired Batman,

For he is fearless, a hero of justice;
Adorned in his suits, he hides behind a mask,
He fights evil to keep the peace.

Suddenly our world descended into state of chaos,

When the pandemic struck out of the blue;
Death loomed over as the virus spread,
Striking true fear in me and you!

I wanted to see Batman fights this virus,

But deep down I know he is not real.
Then my dad told me to watch the TV
To find true heroes, the real deal!

Doctors and nurses wearing PPE,

To fight the virus, it is their armours;
Essential workers wearing mask,
Putting their lives at risk for others.

I was drenched in tears when I look at them,

They wear no cape but they're heroes too;
I promise one day I will be like them,
It is a dream that will come true!
