Harley Davidson
Mission Statement:
We fulfill dreams through the experience of motorcycling, by providing to motorcyclists and the
public an expanding line of motorcycles and branded products and services in selected market
segments.
Option B: Defines core purpose in terms of product/service provided
Explanation:
well the mission statement completely explains about what the company are delivering to the
customers in terms of products (motorcycles, branded products), services through the experience of
their products.
Google
Mission Statement:
To organize the world ‘s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
Option C: Defines core purpose very well in terms of customer needs
Explanation:
The mission statement completely defines the core purpose by explaining that the company works
based on customer requirement(information) and how they are striving to achieve them. (by
Organizing)

South-West Airlines
Mission Statement:
The mission of Southwest Airlines is the dedication to the highest quality of Customer Service
delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride, and Company Spirit.
Option C: Defines core purpose very well in terms of customer needs.
Explanation:
From the mission statement the company has clearly in align with the company core purpose
because the company has proven in real that it has truly cares about the customers
(friendliness, warmth, individual pride) and employees (company spirit) as per their needs.

Create a Mission Statement for the “Life Is Good” Company.
Product Definition: (what is made?)
Apparel and Accessories with printed design or logo of “Life is Good”
Customer-Need Definition:
Here in the case of life is good, the customers bought the apparel not because of the
apparel or the style or not even for the design of the apparel, but only for the shared
optimism it is spreading among the community.
Mission Statement:
We the people of life is good will always strive to deliver the shared optimism,
not lifestyle, not trend.
Assignment
Analyzing the Mission Statements of 10 different Companies
Tesla
Mission statement: To accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
Explanation: Tesla is not just an electric car company, but they are the pioneers
in helping the world in transition of the renewable and sustainable energy.

Disney
Mission Statement: Creating happiness through magical experiences.
Explanation: They never failed in helping their customers to experience the
magical world by helping them to live in their fantasy world.

McDonald's
Mission Statement: To be our customers' favorite place and way to eat and
drink.
Explanation: it always strived to make its restaurants a destination not
just eating but making it their favourite hangout spot.

Google
Mission Statement: Organize the world’s information and make it universally
accessible and useful.
Explanation:
Its mission statement tells us where their attention is directed. To google, it is all
about making the information available on the internet easy to consume. They
will put in place measures to ensure you can access this information wherever
you are on earth.

Twitter
Mission Statement: To give everyone the power to create and share ideas and
information instantly, without barriers.
Explanation: it is always the platform that stood out from the rest of the social
media platform. They are here working in empowering the user creative
thoughts and defined themselves in fastest information broadcasting company.
Companies that failed to follow their mission:
Kingfisher
Mission statement: The KFA family will continually deliver a safe, value based and
enjoyable travel experience to all our guests.
Explanation: it failed in primarily in delivering the value-based customer experience when
they acquired Deccan airlines and followed up by unethical business practices.

Facebook
Mission Statement: To give people the power to build community and bring the world closer
together
Explanation: in my view why Facebook failed to follow is, it mission is to give power to
people to build stronger community but it had share their user datapoints to Cambridge
Analytica which made leaders powerful not the people.
