Introduction:

How much do we know about the World War II? Well as a matter of fact we do not know that
much. One of which is the Yamashita’s gold or Yamashita’s treasure, it is the name given to the
alleged war loot stolen in Southeast Asia by Imperial Japanese forces during World War II and
hidden in caves, tunnels, underground complexes, or just underground in the Philippines.
One of the fabled treasure is the golden Buddha
that was found in the Benguet Mines near Baguio City in 1970 He claimed a cache of precious
stones could be found in the statue if its head was unscrewed. In 1971, the statue was
confiscated by police in a raid at Roxas' residence in the Philippines' summer city. The
statue was kept at a court's vault in Baguio. The disappearance sparked anti-Marcos
sentiments, when allegations spread that the dictator's men ordered the raid and seizure of
the Golden Buddha to support Marcos' claims that he discovered a part of the Yamashita
treasure. In 1968, Marcos said he had found a part of the Yamashita treasure, believed
buried in 172 land and water sites across the country, to explain his burgeoning wealth three
years after he was elected president in 1965.
Marcos and his family have been accused of plundering some $5 billion from the national
coffers during his 20-year rule. Before his death in 1993, Roxas sold his rights to the statue
to a group of investors who formed the Golden Buddha Corp.

Stand:
My stand is that Roxas has a false accusation to Marcos, the alleged Golden Buddha of the
Yamashita’s treasure does not really exist.
Roxas has made a black propaganda, For Marcos to be accused of plundering about stealing
the so called Golden Buddha, Marcos has nothing to do with that treasure.
And Roxas was only blinded by the politics, to the point that he speak of lies, and he even
made a story about the golden Buddha.
Roxas and Corazon Aquino even make the issue as an international issue,
the court trail was not made in the Philippines, it was in Hawaii, in order to humiliate
Marcos even further.
Evidences:
The Accusation of Roxas and Aquino to Marcos, was falsified by the Hawaiian Supreme
Court. In November 18 1988, the Hawaiian Supreme Court releases a decision that Marcos
is Innocent frome the accusation of stealing a golden Buddha from Roxas, the court did not
believe the story of Roxas, for the reason it was not possible, and has no strong or prior
evidence to support his claim and they made it official the his story was not true.
And the Golden Buddha was not even gold to start with, the Buddha was made of brass
copper, the reporter of the media exaggerate it so the it will caught attentions,
Then in the year 1995, one of the son of Roxas State that his father’s story about how
Marcos Stole the Golden Buddha From him was only a lie, and he also state that his
father’s wrong deeds, and that he was blinded by the polictics.

Conclusion:
There for I concluded that Marcos was Innocent from the accusation and the fabled Golden
Buddha was just a propaganda.
And the treasure is just yet to be discover, and waiting for those who are willing enough and
true enough to possess such riches.
