LifeBook T4210

Disassembly
ESD Precautions are required when working on this LifeBook computer.

Make sure the LifeBook is turned off before beginning this disassembly
procedure.

1. Turn the LifeBook over and 2. Slide out the optical drive.
remove the battery.

3. Extract 3 screws from the RAM 4. Lift the cover off.

9. Lift the drive out. 10. Extract 19 lower case screws.

11. Open the LifeBook partially, 12. Open the LifeBook, lay it flat and
stand it on its front and extract 2 pry up and remove the keyboard
screws from the rear. upper cover.
13. Remove the hinge rear cover. 14. Tilt the keyboard up and slide it
out.

15. Disconnect the keyboard cable. 16. Extract 1 screw from the LED
PCB.

17. Disconnect the PCB’s cables 18. Disconnect 1 antenna cable


and set it aside. from the Bluetooth PCB.

19. Disconnect 2 antenna cables 20. Disconnect the 2 display cables


from the WLAN card. from the system board.
21. Extract 2 screws from the hinge. 22. Lift the Display off the lower
assembly.

23. Extract 3 screws from the upper 24. Disconnect the GlidePoint cable.
cover.

25. Lift the upper cover off and turn 26. Extract 4 screws from the

27. Disconnect the cable from the 28. Remove the tape from this

29. Lift the assembly out. 30. Extract 2 screws from the
Bluetooth PCB.

31. Disconnect the PCB’s cable and 32. Extract 3 screws from the metal

33. Lift the shield off. 34. Press out on the locking clips to
release the WLAN card and lift it out.

35. Extract 2 screws from the drive 36. Disconnect the daughterboard’s
bay daughterboard. cable.
37. Lift it off the system board. 38. Extract 3 screws from the audio
PCB.

39. Disconnect the 2 speaker cables 40. Disconnect the ribbon cable.
from the PCB.

41. Lift the PCB out. 42. Extract 2 screws from the front of
the lower case.

43. Lift the front out. 44. Extract 3 screws from the PC
card assembly.
45. Turn it over, disconnect its cable 46. Extract 2 screws from the IR/USB
and lift it out. board and 1 from the RJ11 bracket.

47. Lift both out and disconnect the 48. Turn the board over and extract
cable from the system board. 2 screws securing the modem to the
bottom.

49. Lift the modem off the board. 50. Disconnect the RJ11 connector
cable from it.

51. Disconnect the DC power cable 52. Lift the DC power connector out
from the system board. of the case.
53. Disconnect the bridge battery 54. Extract 3 screws from the system
cable from the system board. board.

55. Extract 2 hex screws from the 56. Lift the system board out of the
external VGA connector. lower case.

57. Extract 2 screws from the fan. 58. Disconnect the fan’s cable.

59. Lift the fan off the system board. 60. Extract 5 screws from the heat
sink.
NOTE: The CPU has to be transferred to the new
system board

61. Lift the heat sink off the system 62. Remove 6 screw covers from the
board. front of the display.

63. Extract the 6 screws underneath. 64. Pry around the perimeter of the
display to release the front cover
from the rear.

65. Lift the front cover off. 66. Extract 2 screws from the
fingerprint PCB.

67. Lift the PCB out and disconnect 68. Extract 1 screw from the status
its cable. LCD.
69. Lift it out and disconnect its 70. Extract 2 screws from the

71. Lift the PCB out and disconnect 72. Disconnect the power cable

91. Remove the inverter from the


rear cover.
