Education never stops as stated by the Secretary of Education Leonor Briones.
As the Covid-19 pandemic changes the platform of education worldwide, leaders, educators, strategists provide viable solutions to continue education and rise above this crisis with solid learning continuity plan. Although the Philippine government strongly disallows face to face mode of learning instruction unless a vaccine for Covid-19 is discovered, the Department of Education presents different learning modalities which are means of continuing delivery of instruction in this time of crisis. DepEd introduces distance learning as the New Normal in continuing education. Distance learning refers to a learning delivery modality where learning takes place between the teacher and the learners who are geographically remote from each other during instruction examples of this are modular, online and TV or radio- based instructions. With the current situation, DepEd develops its operational basic education Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) S.Y. 2020-2021 to provide clear guidance to all offices, units, schools, and Community Learning Centers (CLC). The learning continuity plan sounds feasible. However, as perfect as it could be, there are still challenges that the Department of Education needs to address like the distribution of quality-assured learning modules as soon as possible for reproduction, the continued threat of the virus, and more. Personally, I agree that education must endure amidst crisis. Plans are made to provide possible solutions. If these plans were not fruitful, then, work on for another solution. We have to exhaust all the possibilities and try to test workable options. As the virus bares its fangs, we have to be resilient and positive.
