PATERNAL SIDE

Ireneo Batara Maquera

- I can say that he is caring and patient, he used to be my hands on companion

when I go to school and my patient fetcher when I was in nursery to
kindergarten. He will wait outside of my classroom until my class is done,
everyday. I learned to be patient in terms of waiting because of him. He is
also religious he will attend Sunday masses as much as he could. He was very
attached to his roots, he is very sentimental which I think is what I got from
him. He was tall, thin, and had brown eyes.

Caridad Pascual Rodrigo- Maquera

- She has her own ways in doing things, ways that is different from what I know
because she is very traditional one especially when it is holy week, she’ll
make palms for our altars, she makes oil and rice cakes. She is not showy, has
own unique ways in showing affection and care. and I can say that she is an
independent one. She loves planting vegetables and ornamental plants which I
think is what I got from her.

Rodolfo Rodrigo Maquera

- Everyone says I am his mini-me, I am his girl version, some says I am his
photocopy which I will not deny. My father and I looks exactly the same, from
physical features, even my height, I got it from him.

Rudolf Dwight Maquera

- We consider ourselves as tall ones, but even he is younger than me, he is

taller than me now. He’s eyes are smaller than mine, he has better complexion
than me. Although some says his physical features are what he got from my
mother, he is my mother’s mini-me. He is into sports, he is better in dancing
which I am not. He also dedicated himself with the sport Table Tennis because
almost all of us Maquera are playing that sport. It became our practice that
every Maquera should know how to play Table Tennis.
 MATERNAL SIDE

Florencio Umeran

- He really values education, he wanted us to be good in reading. He loves

books , reading and writing. Maybe my personality like loving books, my
eagerness to collect books , reading books is what I got from him. He loves
vegetables so much, and me too I also love vegetable. He also has a hobby of
gardening and as of now, I also fell in love in gardening. Even in drama series
, we are into heavy drama teleseryes, we love watching TV.

Visitacion Umeran

- When it comes to cooking, I want to be like her. She really cooks good foods,
even with simple ingredients. She is also cozy, she wants everything clean
and organize. She is the one who taught me how to cook, clean the house and
what I am today is I owe it to her. Her priority is the happiness of her love
ones. She loves selflessly and unconditionally. And I really really adore her
by that. She is also religious, she goes to church every Sundays.

Demelyn Umeran – Maquera

 - My characteristics is like my mom, we wanted everything to be perfect, we are
both particular in cleanliness, alertness and productivity, I also got her
passion in teaching and her heart for the children. She is my greatest
influence in becoming a devoted and the best teacher I can be. We have the same
standards, I may not be look like her, because I am my father’s photo copy but
I am her mini me. And when I will become a teacher, I will become her greatest
legacy, the one who continued her passion in the field of teaching. We are also
plant lovers, we love collecting plants like bougainvilleas and cactus.

Dear Family,

My whole self is consists with every part of my ancestry, from being a Maquera,
Batara, Rodrigo, Pascual , Umeran, Agpoon, Medrano and Agbayani.

What I am today is I owe to every family that I have and had, to the ones that I met
and to the ones that I haven’t met. Every part of you is rooted in my heart and
mind.
