2.1.2 Image Processing
CR-IR 391CL includes exposure menus for Human.
CR-IR 391V CL includes exposure menus for Veterinary.

“PRIMA CL” ’s menus and CR Console’s menus are not compatible. So “PRIMA CL” cannot import CR
Console’s menus.

Following image processing are available.

GP (Gradation Processing)
RP (Response Processing)
DRC (Dynamic Range Control Processing)
TAS (Tomographic Artifact Suppression Processing)
MFP* (Multi-Objective Frequency Processing)
GPR (Grid Pattern Removal processing)
FNC (Flexible Noise Control).
* MFP processing is option

About other function of Viewer screen such as window pattern and comparing past study, refer “5.1 The
list of functions”.

2.1.3 Difference from CR Console

The major difference from CR Console is that “PRIMA CL” equips viewer function, detailed QA,
measurement function and DVD storage as standard function.
DVD storage function can backup image data to media, and you can manage which image is stored in
which DVD. Viewer function can explain medical condition to a patient clearly by using such function as
image magnifying and comparison to past image.
Moreover, User control function and security function have been enhanced. For instance, it can prevent
an erroneous operation by an unauthorized user by setting user authority and password. In addition,
intended data falsification can be avoided by access record of a study and consistency check of a disk.

For detail comparison with CR Console’s function, see “5.1 The list of functions” of this document.

2.1.4 Difference from FCRView / FCR CAPSULA V VIEW

The major difference from FCRView / FCR CAPSULA V VIEW is that “PRIMA CL” does not equip
Client PC (option), DICOM US Storage (option), connecting high-resolution monitor, dual monitor
configuration, connectable models of RU and connecting with CR Console.

2.1.5 Spec
“PRIMA CL” has 250GB size of internal HDD. 5GB of it is used for Windows system and 5GB for
margin. So 240GB is available for image storage area. The maximum number of image storage is
about 15,000 for 14"x17" size. The controllable number of study is 60,000 at the maximum. When the
volume of image files exceeds the capacity of the HDD, images are deleted with FIFO (First in First
out) method. Deleted images can be read and displayed from DVD.

Using “Free Layout Print” option, the size of image storage area will be reduced to 235GB.

FCR PRIMA “FCR PRIMA DRYPIX DRYPIX Server / Viewer

Console” PRIMA PRIMA

FCR PRIMA and DRYPIX PRIMA have no LCD panel to display or edit configurations on them. It is
necessary to edit configurations (such as IP address) of FCR PRIMA and DRYPIX PRIMA by using
PC-TOOL or PC Utility working on the Service PC or FCR PRIMA Console. These service operations
are similar to that of XG-1 RU.

3.1.1 Restrictions
Only 1-to-1 connection is supported for connection to Reader Unit. Accordingly, in case of registration
or image reading, it is necessary to display the exposure menu (unlike N-to-N connection, image
reading is impossible with the background process, and the barcode reader cannot be used).
Accordingly, it is desirable that “PRIMA CL” should be installed beside Reader Unit. Direct connection
between FCR PRIMA and FCR PRIMA Console with cross LAN cable is not supported.

CR-VW 674 : CR-IR 391 Free Layout Print Key Software
This options include DICOM Print key and Free Layout Print key. So there is no need to purchase
another DICOM Print key software to use Free Layout Print function.

A film is printed out to the printer which has been registered in [Service Utility] – [Connected Equipment] –
[Film Printer]. The setting values of the registered printer is used as the printer’s parameters. When a sorter(s)
is mounted to the printer, a film is output to the default bin for free layout print.

4.2.4 Notice on introduction

When the free layout print option is installed, the preparation area for image processing on the HDD becomes
10GB. (if not installed, 5GB). When the HDD capacity is 250GB, the area available for image storage is as
follows:
Free layout print option is not installed: 240GB (excluding 5GB for the system area and 5GB for the
preparation area for image processing)
Free layout print option is installed: 235GB (excluding 5GB for the system area and 10GB for the
preparation area for image processing)

When the amount of image data exceed the capacity above, the data will be deleted with FIFO method.

Before installing the option key, confirm that there is no study which is not verified yet. Otherwise such study
could be deleted due to the expansion of the preparation area for image processing.

After the free layout print is performed, the “Storage/Print” status of the study remains as “Un-Delivered” and
never changes to “Delivered”. Make sure to use DICOM Media Storage, DICOM Print or DICOM CR Storage.
Otherwise Automatic image data deletion function does not work when the HDD becomes full.
