ECONOMIC AND PERFORMANCE REVIEW

FYE2018 has been both an exhilarating and challenging year for the Company. Exhilarating because
2018 was the year of the unprecedented peaceful and democratic emergence of a new Government for
Malaysia, bringing a positive outlook for good governance and a responsible government backed by
more accountability, integrity and openness. Challenging because of the need for the Company to adjust
to marketplace changing demands.

In terms of the global economy in 2018, one of the major concerns was the US-China trade war which
has raised the fears of de-globalization and the descent of the global economy into a collection of highly
protected national markets. Despite that, the Malaysian economy grew at a robust pace last year, having
recorded a growth rate of 4.7%. According to the recent report released by the World Bank, economic
activities in Malaysia are still expected to expand at 4.7% in 2019 despite the projected slower growth

achieve a total revenue of RM398.7 million in FYE2018 – an increase of 11% compared to FYE2017.
The Company continued to invest heavily in business development and marketing activities while
strengthening its workforce to build the Digital Services business. In addition, the Solutions and
Communications business experienced a substantially higher competition and a much challenging
industry landscape among the global telecommunications players which resulted in lower revenue
