of Sri Subramania Bharathiyar's compositions.
About the Institution
Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and
Higher Education for Women, established by the great
patriot and philanthropist Dr. T.S. Avinashilingam Ayya
Avargal in the year 1957, aims to provide education at
par with global standards for women candidates. The
University persistently seeks and adopts innovative ideas
of teaching on a consistent basis. Currently, it is under
the dynamic leadership of Padma Shri. Dr. P. R. Krishna
Kumar, Chancellor and Dr. Premavathy Vijayan, Vice
Chancellor of this esteemed University. Its constant drive
in imparting higher education through excellent
infrastructure, faculty credentials and higher academic
standards, has acquired this institution Grade ‘A’ in
NAAC. The University has signed MoUs with various
reputed industries and institutions in India and abroad for
the benefit of the student community. Presently, about 50
research projects in different disciplines, funded by
various Government funding agencies are in progress.
The institute has collaborative research activities with
Korean Universities, Ohio State University and
University of Latvia.
Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering was started in the year
1996 with the approval of AICTE. The campus is spread
over an area of 100 acres and is situated 6 kms off
Mettupalayam Road at Thudiyalur. The campus is well
developed with excellent infrastructure for classrooms,
laboratories, library, hostel, on-campus medical &
banking facilities, transportation, telecom, stationery,
cafeteria, 24 hours internet facility and Wi-Fi
connectivity.
