16 Hours in Melaka.

Melaka is often described as historical state because it has many historical buildings which

was built during the Portuguese invader era. Melaka had also been listed as UNESCO World

Heritage Site because of the historical monuments. We also can find the historical

information about the city in the museums there. Thanks to the delicious Baba and Nyonya

food and efficient trishaw service which we can access to travel around Melaka.

Friday – 8.00 a.m. in Museums.

Begin your journey with a visit to the museums to obtain many historical information about

the city. These museums will provide many historical back ground about the city from the

entry of the Sumatera warrior Paremeswara to the entry of Portuguese. Do not forget to visit

the Maritime museum which is located at Banda Hilir. It contains historical information about

the arrival of Portuguese descants by sea through the Straits of Malacca. Next, do not miss to

have a snap in front of the Christ Church which was built by the Dutch invaders 260 years

ago. Visiting the Taming Sari tower is also a must at Banda Hilir and we can have a very

beautiful view of the city from the top of the tower.

12 p.m. Nyonya Cuisine Donald & Lily

For a heartier meal, the best mouth-watering choice is to swallow some yummy food which is

the Baba and Nyonya cuisine. Malacca is a food heaven which you will most likely to hear

about. The famous Donald & Lily restaurant with its spicy Baba and Nyonya food gathers all

the pupils with a long queue. Baba and Nyonya is a mixture of Chinese and Muslim. This
Nyonya cuisine restaurant was established in 1980. Here are some most popular dishes such

as laksa, curry with coconut milk, spices and rich fragrance.

4.00 p.m. – The Klebang beach.

In the evening, you can visit the Klebang beach which is located in the shoreline of Melaka

and is facing directly to the Straits of Malacca. It is a very clean beach with soft soil where

you can enjoy your day by playing bubbles with your family members. You can also have a

sweet time by sitting in the beach, looking at the beautiful scenery and have a quality time

with your family. You can have relaxing chit chats with your family members, also, by

enjoying a coconut shake since the place can give you a pleasant scenario. The coconut shake

is very famous for its taste in Klebang beach. You can linger for a few quiet minutes at the

beach side for a peaceful feeling.

8.00 p.m. The Jonker Street

Jonker street is very famous for delicious foods where you can have your tasty dinner. The

street foods are considered cheap and very tasty. It is best to have a Jonker walk during night

times since the street is too long and you can enjoy the walk together with the colourful street

lights. The only issue in Jonker street is that, you may have to queue up for quiet a long time

to purchase your food but the taste of the food is worth the wait. Orient yourself around the

Jonker street for crafts such as handbags, clothes and also cowboy hats. They are quite cheap

and looks astonishing.

10.00 p.m. – River cruise.

River cruise in Banda Hilir is one of the beautiful tourist spot in Malacca. It is located near to

the A’Famosa fort. One boat trip will take roughly 45 minutes. If your turn takes a lot of

time, you can linger for a few minutes around the jetty to lash out some time. During the

cruise, we can see beautiful landmarks alongside Malacca river. Most people prefer to take
the cruise during night time because the buildings will turn on their lights and create a

stunning view.
