 THE SACRED NAME
The most vital and dynamic truth which is taught by the
Inspired Scriptures has been hidden almost completely for many
centuries. Upon becoming aware of the importance of the Sacred
Name, the diligent Bible student will come to a realization that an
almost deliberate, calculated plot has been engineered to hide the
Name of our Heavenly Father from His people who are seeking Him.
In this lesson you will learn who is responsible for this crime and what
our Heavenly Father predicts will occur concerning His Name in the
last days.
The Bible Asks a Question
1. What is the astounding question asked under the inspiration of the
Holy Spirit by the writer of Proverbs in chapter 30, verse 4?
COMMENT: On the surface this might appear to be a rather
ridiculous question to the average Bible reader. Doesn’t everyone
know the Name of the Father and the Son? Isn’t everyone familiar
with the Name of the one whom they invoke in prayer? Haven’t we
known His Name from childhood? Doesn’t it appear in every version
of the Bible? Why should a writer of the Scriptures ask the question,
“What is His Name and what is His Son’s Name, if thou canst tell?”
Could it be that there is more to this subject than meets the eye?
2. Does Moses ask a similar question, but this time of the Almighty
personally? Exodus 3:13.
COMMENT: Isn’t it natural when you meet a person for the first time
to inquire what his name is? At meetings, social events and any other
function, introductions are the first item on the program. Similarly, if
we are to meet the Heavenly Father in His Word, if we are to prove
that He exists and have faith in His promises, we should be interested
in learning His promises, we should be interested in learning His
revealed, personal Name.
3. Do other people who play an important role in the scriptural drama
inquire about the Name of our Heavenly Father? Please note the
following verses carefully. Gen. 32:29, Judges 13:17.
COMMENT: We are being visited by a great outpouring of the Holy
Spirit in these last days. Our Heavenly Father is teaching us things
which were never comprehended fully by even the prophets. Just as
did the people who played an integral part in the scriptural drama, our
Heavenly Father is revealing Himself personally in these last days.
The Word “Name”
While reading the Bible, have you ever observed the numerous
instances in which the word name occurs? Almost constantly
(especially in the Psalms) you will find the word name in the text. The
Hebrew word which has been translated name is shem. In the Hebrew
lexicons we find that shem is defined as, “a celebrated name, fame,
glory, a good name, a good reputation, a monument.” The Strong’s
Concordance Hebrew lexicon gives, “an appellation, as a mark or
memorial of individuality; by implication, honor, authority, character.”
Please check your own dictionary for the definition of the word name,
keeping in mind the above definitions from the Hebrew lexicons.
Several definitions for the English word name from Webster’s
Dictionary are as follows: “Of Anglo-Saxon origin 1. A word or
phrase by which a person, thing or class of things is known. 2. A word
or phrase expressing some quality considered descriptive. 3. a) fame or
reputation. b) good reputation. 4. A family or clan.”
From these lexicons and dictionary definitions you may
observe that a name is descriptive of a person’s individuality, a word
by which he is known, a word on which his reputation rests. Have
you ever attempted to borrow money and had your credit checked?
Your reputation for prompt repayment of past loans has been recorded
and if the credit rating attached to the record which bears your name is
good, your loan will be granted.
A name often has been descriptive of a person’s occupation, or
it may have been descriptive of some personal characteristic (such as
Long, Short, Brown, etc.). When the word which a person had taken as
his own word is spoken, the word by which he is called, he
understands that someone wishes to speak with him, calling him out of
perhaps a group of 20, 50, or 100 other people. The reason why none
of the other people of the group answer is because their word (name)
has not been called.
 Many farmers today own large herds of cattle. If the herd is
registered, each animal has an individual name and that herd owner
can identify each animal by its name. Our heavenly Father has created
a universe which contains innumerable (for man) stars. However, our
Heavenly Father has named each one and they do His bidding, Psalm
147:4-5. Now the question arises, “If all men have individual, personal
names, would not the Almighty also have His own individual, personal
Name which reveals His character and on which His reputation will
depend?” The answer is that He has indeed chosen such an individual,
personal Name and He has revealed it to His people!
What is His Name?
1. In Psalm 68:4 in the King James Bible you may find the Name by
which our Heavenly Father is known. Which Name are we told to
employ when we extol (praise) Him?
COMMENT: In this passage we have the Name transliterated Jah. If
you can obtain the use of a Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary you
will find that the J sound as we know it today has only been in the
English language since the 1700’s. Prior to that date the J was the
capital I. You may prove this from a check of the center column
references of many Bibles. Some of them using only the small letters
of the alphabet to indicate a marginal note will omit the use of the
letter J since they were compiled prior to the time when the J became
an individual letter.
The word transliterate means to bring the sounds of a word
across from one language to another. If you have ever had a passport
for international travel, you will understand that your name can be
written in the alphabet of any language. The sound of your name can
be transferred from one language to another by using letters which
indicate comparable sounds in another language. Many words are
transliterated and the linguists call them “loan word,” meaning that the
word was borrowed from another language. If you have ever listened
to a foreign broadcast on a short-wave radio, especially a news
broadcast, you can see that the names of the prominent people in the
news are never translated, but always they are transliterated. It is
vastly more imperative that we do not tamper with the Name of our
Heavenly Father, who holds all things in His hands, by translating His
Name!
2. Does our Heavenly Father inform us that He has only one Name?
Psalm 83.18.
COMMENT: By taking a more modern dictionary and checking the
name Jehovah you will learn that this form was a supposed or
erroneous transliteration of the Tetragrammaton. Please notice this
carefully. Additionally, the word Tetragrammaton is a word of four
letters (YHWH) used to indicate the Name of the Almighty as it
appears in the Hebrew text. Psalm 83:18 is very dogmatic if we allow
it to speak to us with authority. Some opponents of the Sacred Name
have attempted to translate this verse to say that the Almighty alone
has the right to use this Name; however, this is altering the original
meaning.
3. If you have a concordance, check some of the passages in the Bible
which use the common term the Lord. You will find that the
Tetragrammaton in the Hebrew has been translated the Lord when it
should have been transliterated YAHWEH. The revealed, personal
Name of our Heavenly Father may be found 6823 times in the
Masoretic Hebrew text from which the translation of your Bible has
been taken. Since the scribes admit removing it at least 134 different
times and inserting Adonai, we may conclude that this four-letter
Name of our Heavenly Father appeared about 7000 times in the
Hebrew Scriptures. The number seven signifies perfection.
4. Does our Heavenly Father state absolutely that this personal Name
which He has chosen will endure forever? Exodus 3:15 and Psalm
135:13.
COMMENT: The Hebrew word which has been translated forever in
these two verses is olahm. It means “to time out of mind, to eternity,”
to such a time when you as a human being cannot imagine so far into
the distance. Note also Isaiah 63:16 and you will see from how long in
the past His Name has been Yahweh.
5. Does our Heavenly Father inform us that this specific, personal
Name which He has revealed in His Word would be His memorial?
Exodus 3:15, Psalm 135:13 and Hosea 12:5.
COMMENT: The word memorial means how He wishes to be
remembered. A memorial is usually cut in stone and is almost
indestructible.
6. Does our Heavenly Father indicate how many generations shall
revere His Name? Exodus 3:15, Psalm 45:17.
7. How long shall this majestic Name endure? Psalm 72:17-19. Would
this passage apply to the people of the generations to come? Psalm
102:18-22.
COMMENT: Although I have merely indicated specific verses in this
study, I recommend that you read the entire Psalm or passage so that
you may obtain the full impact of the verse in its contextual setting.
Notice also how frequently some of these Psalms allude to the era
when the Kingdom is established.
The Sacred Name Explained
is how the Heavenly Father has chosen to name Himself
in the Hebrew Scriptures, the Word which was spoken to man. Some
people, educators included, state that the pronunciation has been lost
over the years. They state this in order to promulgate the concept that
any name which we call the Almighty is acceptable for use in worship
and reference to Him. Let us see what the Scriptures say on this
subject.
1. Who will know His Name? Isaiah 52:5-6. (Note the context and see
that it refers to the last days.)
2. Will wrath be poured upon those who do not call upon the Sacred
Name? Psalm 79:6 (please read the entire Psalm to gain the impact of
the context).
3. Will the redeemed people walk in the Name of Yahweh, Micah 4:4-
5?
COMMENT: If the saved people will be walking in the Name of
Yahweh, the Heavenly Father, they will have to know and use this
Name.
4. What is the seal of the 144,000? See Revelations 7:1-4 (note that
this sealing will take place just before the winds of terrible tribulation
sweep across this earth), Revelation 14:1 (the Greek texts read “…
having His Name and His Father’s Name written upon their
foreheads”), also Revelation 22:4.
COMMENT: The forehead is the seat of intellect, the source of our
understanding which controls our actions (the brain). The people of
Yahweh in the last days will be bearing the Savior’s Name and the
Name of the Heavenly Father in their minds, the source of knowledge
and understanding, and will be sealed from the judgment of the
tribulation. Consequently, the Sacred Name could not be lost if people
will be sealed with it!
5. The historian Josephus has indicated that the four letters of the
Sacred Name are four vowels. If you can obtain the use of a copy of
Josephus’ history, the passage which I will quote below is found in
“Wars of the Jews,” book 5, chapter 5, section 7, “A miter also of fine
linen encompassed his head, which was tied by a blue riband, about
which there was another golden crown, in which was engraven the
Sacred Name (of the Almighty:) it consists of four vowels.”
COMMENT: Educators have ridiculed this statement for centuries;
however, as more excavations in the Holy Land revel a substantiation
of the accuracy of the history of Josephus, perhaps they will have to
retract some of their opinions. Recently, scholars have concluded that
while Josephus’ writings are incomplete in some areas, what he has
written is extremely accurate and can be relied upon. Josephus is
accurate in the above quoted passage also.
6. The respected Gesinius’ Hebrew Grammar (edited by E. Kautsch
and translated by A. E. Cowley) states that there are four letters in the
Hebrew language that are used as vowels. This statement is supported
also by the Beginners Handbook to Biblical Hebrew by Marks and
Rogers, and A Practical Grammar for Classical Hebrew 2nd Ed.
authored by J. Weingreen. For a summation of these statements we
quote from the Hebrew grammar by Berlitz: “But in current Hebrew
writing “dots” (the vowel points) are seldom used. There are however
four letters which can be used as vowels. ‫ א‬and‫ ח‬may have the vowel
sound of ah or eh, ‫ ו‬that of oo (long U) or oh (long O), and the ‫ י‬that of
ee (long E) or eh (short E).” Why here we have the four letters used in
the Tetragrammaton! This proves that they may be used as vowels and
that we can pronounce them! The ‫ יח‬are pointed at numerous places in
the Scriptures to dictate that their pronunciation is Yah so we know for
certain the sound of the second letter. The best sound of the third
letter is a long ‘U’ and scholars have felt that this is correct for many
centuries. In older literature the Latin U which written V is employed.
The last letter must be vocalized as “eh” since this is a masculine
gender. Our Heavenly Father is always described as masculine
(Yahweh He) never as feminine (Yahweh She). The Hebrew has only
two genders, masculine and feminine, and our Heavenly Father is a
being of fantastic power, consequently He would be masculine gender.
Now let us vocalize the four vowels together: EE AH OO EH. Say it
rapidly now. Do you see that the best way in which it can be
transliterated into the English language is by employing the form
YAHWEH?
7. Now go through the Bible and note some of the names which appear
here. Note the IAH in the names of the prophets for instance. This
IAH is pronounced YAH and is a transliteration of the abbreviated
form of our Heavenly Father’s Name, the first two letters of His Name.
8. Does it surprise you that in such passages as Psalm 105:1, 3 and
116:2, 4, 13, you are commanded to call upon a certain specific Name?
The Word HalleluYah
1. The Hebrew word HalleluYah has been transliterated into nearly
every language and dialect under the sun. Its message is that which is
commanded in Psalm 68:4, “Extol Him by His Name YAH . . .” Hallel
means Praise. YAH stands for Yahweh, the Name of our Heavenly
Father. HALLELUYAH means PRAISE YOU YAH. HalleluYah
may be found in many of the last 50 Psalms.
2. When the saved people in the Kingdom of Yahweh are told to praise
Him who is their salvation, what do they reply? Revelation 19:5-7. Is
this their endless song before the throne? Revelation 19:1, 3. Do even
heavenly creatures (the 24 elders and the four living creatures) praise
our Heavenly Father by saying Alleluia? (This is a Greek
transliteration of the Hebrew “HalleluYah,” Rev. 19.4.)
COMMENT: It is truly amazing that this word should have been
carried over from the Hebrew to the Greek! The critics of the Sacred
Name and its importance should heed this message if they wish to be
included in the great multitude before the throne, because if they wish
to be a part of this multitude they will have to learn it eventually.
Incidentally, many people have blasphemed the Heavenly Father’s
Name without being aware of it, by using the word HALLELUYAH
indiscriminately. Be CAREFUL!
Our Heavenly Father Has Declared His Name
1. Has our Heavenly Father ever told us exactly what His Name is?
Isaiah 42:8, 48:2, Jeremiah 51:57, Amos 5:8, 27.
COMMENT: In each of these passages we learn that our Heavenly
Father’s Name which has been translated the Lord is Yahweh in the
original. When we return the Sacred Name back to the place from
which it was evicted, there can be no questions which Name we shall
revere!
2. Will this Name be declared by His ministers in the great
congregation of Israel? Psalm 22:22 and Hebrews 2:12.
3. Has He declared His Name in an audible voice so that Israel could
hear it? Exodus 20:2 and 34:5-6. Deuteronomy 5:5-6.
4. May we make mention (speak) the names of other mighty ones?
Exodus 23:13, Joshua 23:7 and Psalm 16:4, Deut. 6:14.
5. Who is the beginning of wisdom? Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 1:7 and
9:10
COMMENT: The covenant of Yahweh, the 10 commandments,
begins with His Name, Exodus 20:2 and Deut. 5:6.
6. Are we allowed to invoke any name but YAHWEH? Deut. 6:13 and
10:20. Are we told to destroy all the names of other mighty ones?
Deut. 12:3.
7. Does the third commandment demand that we use the Sacred
Name? Exodus 20:7 and Deut. 5:11.
COMMENT: The correct translation of this commandment should
read “You shall not suffer the Name of Yahweh your Elohim to
become desolate for Yahweh will not hold guiltless whosoever
alloweth His Name to be falsified.” The actual meaning behind this
verse is that if you allow the Sacred Name of the Heavenly Father to
be replaced or do violence to it, He will do the same with your name.
8. Will this Sacred Name be the last warning message which will be
preached to mankind just before the tribulation? Mal. 4:5-6.
COMMENT: The name Elijah means “MY MIGHTY ONE IS
YAHWEH.” Please review the story of the contest in which this
prophet engaged with the priests of Baal on Mt. Carmel in 1 Kings 18.
When you return the Name of Yahweh to the proper place in the
chapter, you may come to a marvelous understanding of the battle
which the true prophets have always had, to keep Israel in the pathway
of truth in the worship of Yahweh. In the last days there will be a
group of people who will be preaching the message that the Name of
the Almighty is Yahweh, and this will occur just prior to the second
coming of our Savior.
9. Did the patriarchs speak the Sacred Name? Gen. 12:8, 13:18, 21:33,
22:14, 26:25, and 28:21.
COMMENT: The Bible is an Israelite book, tracing the history of the
Israelites. If our forefathers worshiped Yahweh and called upon Him,
then we must also, since it is the Mighty One of Abraham who offers
the spiritual blessings which are promised, Gal. 3:16, 18, 29. Please
see also Gal. 6:16. Now note some rather obvious Hebrew
transliteration in your Bible, Gen. 33:20. We cannot reject the Sacred
Name merely because it is Hebrew. We must still today worship the
same Mighty One which was worshiped by Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob!
10. Will everyone on earth be worshiping Yahweh eventually?
Zephaniah 3:9.
11. Will the Name Yahweh mean salvation? Joel 2:32 and Acts 2:21
and Romans 10:13.
COMMENT: A rather puzzling Scripture to many people is found in
Exodus 3:14. The Almighty explains His Name to the human family as
being I Am that I Am. In the Hebrew this phrase appears as Eyeh
Asher Eyeh. Most commentators define it to mean, “I will be what I
will be, or I will become what I will become,” calling forth the thought
that He is, and He is the self-existent one. From this definition comes
the translation The Eternal. He holds the secret to everlasting life and
He, Yahweh, has offered it to the human family. Many times I have
asked the question, “How can you hope to find everlasting life by
calling on a name which does not have this quality as an intrinsic
value?” We shall certainly receive everlasting life when we call upon
the Name of the Almighty who has it to give. By dwelling in eternity,
He can anticipate the needs which you may have in the future and will
then answer prayers for you, Isaiah 58:9 and 65:24.
12. In the last days, will the people of the Almighty be calling on His
Name? Zech. 13:9.
13. Will those people who fear Yahweh gather together often in holy
convocation? Malachi 3:16-18.
14. Did our Savior have to declare a certain, specific Name to His
disciples? John 17:6.
15. Is the spiritual family kept by a certain, specific Name? John
17:11.
16. Is the entire spiritual family named by a certain Name? Which
Name? Eph. 3:14-15.
Who Is Responsible for Not Teaching the Sacred Name?
It is imperative that we understand that there is a reason for the
removal of the Sacred Name, the revealed, personal Name of our
Heavenly Father, from the pages of the Scriptures. Your Bible informs
us who is to blame.
1. The prophet Isaiah lays the blame on whom for the troubles of Israel
and the curse which has been pronounced upon them? Isaiah 43:27-28.
COMMENT: In Israel it was the priests who were the teachers, please
see 2 Chronicles 15:3. The priests are the ministers of Yahweh, Joel
1:9 and 2:17.
2. Does Malachi lay the blame at the same doorstep? Mal. 1:6 and 12.
3. Is Malachi most emphatic about this? Mal. 2:1 and 2.
4. Does Jeremiah the prophet indicate that another group is also
involved in misleading the people? Jeremiah 8:8-9.
COMMENT: The scribes were the copyists who reproduced the scroll
books of the Sacred Writings.
5. Who is actually the root cause of this crime against the Name of our
Heavenly Father? Can it be that the people of our time do not wish to
appear to hold to a “Jewish” or “Hebrew” faith? Isaiah 30:8-11 (please
notice the context and that it is a prophecy “for ever and ever”). Does
Jeremiah 5:31 indicate who is exercising control over the teachers of
religion? Please see also Jeremiah 23:11, 13, 25-32.
COMMENT: At the root of this crime against the Almighty we may
find the people, those who control the purse strings. Have you ever
wondered where a fad begins? Or what makes something catch on?
“Enlightened,” seemingly educated people have for so long rejected
the Hebrew origin of our New Testament faith, although the Hebrew
Old Testament is right there in the Bible all the time. In fact, the
people today insist, as did ancient Israel, that popular philosophical
ideas of the world are acceptable, even though this is contrary to the
will of Yahweh.
6. Will our Heavenly Father Yahweh ever vindicate His teachers who
teach the truth concerning the Sacred Name? Isaiah 30:20-21. Please
note also verses 27-32.
7. Does Yahweh say that some day He will personally take hold of this
deplorable situation and sanctify (set apart) His great Name? Please
read Ezekiel 36:16-30, paying special attention to verses 20-23. When
will this occur?
8. Will the occurrences of number 6 and 7 (above) be in the time when
the Millennial Kingdom will be established? Whose Kingdom will this
be? Obadiah 21. Please see also Isaiah 11:9. Review also Psalm 72
which we noted previously, and observe the context.
9. Can false religion be traced ultimately to one specific source? 2 Cor.
4:4 and 11:13-15. Please pay special attention to Rev. 12:9. Is the
whole world deceived today?
10. The Scriptures teach that Satan, through pride and jealousy, has
attempted to replace Yahweh as the Mighty One of this world. When
someone departs from the worship of Yahweh, whom does he
worship? Deut. 32:15-17, Psalm 106:37 and 1 Cor. 10:19-21.
COMMENT: How incredible! Now we may understand perfectly the
plan of the adversary to divert worship to himself. Satan has plotted
carefully to have the Sacred Name removed from the pages of the
Bible so that few will learn it and be saved. However, our Heavenly
Father has His plan of salvation prepared and eventually the plot of
Satan will be destroyed.
11. What does Paul recommend that we do in order to be called the
children of Yahweh? 2 Cor. 6:14-18, note especially verse 17.
12. Does Yahshua the Messiah declare to Satan whom even he is to
worship? Matt. 4:10. This verse is quoted from Deut. 6:13.
How About the Word “Lord”?
Most people use the common English term the Lord to invoke
the Almighty. The brethren of Assemblies of Yahweh find this term
unacceptable for the following reasons:
1. Does our Heavenly Father have only one Name? Psalm 83:18.
2. Are all other deities false idols? Psalm 115:1-9 and Isaiah 45:20-21.
3. Please read Hosea 2. Does our Heavenly Father say that His people
have committed spiritual adultery and have left their first husband?
Who are they praising for their blessings instead of Yahweh, the true
Mighty One? Verse 8.
4. Does He say that He will take certain names out of the mouths of
His people eventually? Which Names? Hosea 2:17.
5. Notice carefully in verse 16 that Yahweh’s people will be calling
Him a certain title. What is this title?
COMMENT: To understand this passage you should have a good
center-column Bible. Just in case you don’t own one. Ishi means my
man. Ish in Hebrew is man and the i means the possessive my. Many
women call their husband “my man.”
6. What is the name or title are we no longer to call Him? Verse 16.
COMMENT: The center columns for this word baali say My Lord.
Baal in the Hebrew is Lord and the i again is my. Shocking? The first
time I read this passage I was stunned! Had I been worshiping Baal
unknowingly? As I studied the Bible in subsequent years, I learned
that nominal religions of today is almost a carbon copy of ancient Baal
worship. The ancient Baals were lords of a particular region. They
usually had an additional name to identify their characteristics. The
word Lord is actually a title and an inferior title at that. The English
lords were subject to the king. Logic tells us that a superior title to
employ for our Heavenly Father would have been King since He tells
us Himself that He is a great king over all the earth, Mal. 1:14.
7. Who is the “Lord”? The Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary reveals
that this word is derived from the Old English Hlaford who was the
keeper of the loaf. Hlaford was a baker’s deity. Upon the settling of
Israel in the land of Palestine, they found the local tribes who were
worshiping Adon, a sun deity. He was a local Baal or Lord. As an
erroneous interpretation began to be taken from the 3 rd commandment
and the Sacred Name Yahweh was removed, the scribes superimposed
the vowel points of Adonai (meaning my Baal or my sun deity) upon
the Tetragrammaton, and the people of Israel were told to read this
foreign name instead of Yahweh. The hybrid word Jehovah resulted
from this union. Along with the substitute name for the Almighty came
a host of false doctrine which altered the True Worship.
The Savior’s Name
In my library I have proof that the Savior was never known by
the name Jesus Christ. Do you know that you can actually learn from
your King James Bible what His Name was? Let us look into our
Bibles and see.
1. Was our Savior’s Name announced from heaven by an angel? Matt.
1:21.
2. Pay particular attention to the last part of the verse in Matt. 1:21.
The Savior’s Name was to have special meaning. What was it to
mean?
COMMENT: Let me assist you in understanding this meaning of the
Savior’s Name. HE means YAHWEH. Shall SAVE in the Hebrew is
Shua and His people means Israel. The Savior’s Name in the
Hebrew is written‫ יחשע‬and pronounced YAHSHUA. His Name means
YAHWEH IS SALVATION. The center-column notes in many Bibles
reveals a common knowledge that His Name was Yahshua, spelled
Joshua.
3. Please turn to Acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8. Note the context and
check the center column in each instance for the name which should
appear there.
COMMENT: The Savior carried the same Name as did Joshua, the
Israelite general who followed Moses in the leadership of Israel.
4. Does His Name appear in the Old Testament? Numbers 13:16.
5. In whose Name was He to come? John 5:43.
6. Did the Messiah indicate that He would be rejected for coming in
His Father’s Name? John 5:43.
7. Will there be many names which the Scripture says you may call
upon to receive salvation? Acts 4:12.
8. Was the Name which He spoke to Paul the Hebrew Name? Acts
26:14.
COMMENT: Our Savior spoke Hebrew or Aramaic (a late Hebrew
dialect) when He walked this earth. When Greeks came to speak with
Him, He didn’t even recognize them, John 12:20-30. It is a proven fact
that the Greek text which appears in your Bible is at least 100 years
more recent than the Syriac (Aramaic) Version. Just as today, at that
time Hebrew was still the language of the synagogue, not Greek.
9. What was the Savior’s title? John 1:41 and 4:25.
COMMENT: You will notice in John 1:41 the explanation of the
word Messiah is found in brackets. This means that it is a translator’s
addition. It is not found in early Syriac manuscripts, and this includes
the explanation of John 4:25 which is not placed within brackets in the
King James Version.
10. What is the origin of the name Jesus Christ? From encyclopedias
and other study works we learn that the name Jesus is derived from
the “father” of the Greek deities Zeus. Zeus was known as Soter
meaning Savior, and his worship bears a remarkable resemblance to
the worship of the contemporary Jesus Christ. The word Christ may
be traced to the Indian Krishna and you may prove this to yourself by
checking the book Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop. The Hebrew
word Messiah is a little more accurate, since the disciples of our
Savior would have called Him by that title. Messiah means an
anointed one. A rather convincing thought relative to the true Hebrew
Name of our Savior would be this, “How could a Jewish man bear a
Greek name when the natives of Palestine spoke Aramaic, especially
since the war of the Meccabees was still so fresh in their minds?”
Protection in the Sacred Name
1. Does the Name Yahshua hold more for the believer than merely
salvation? Does it bring answers to prayer? John 14:13-14, John 16:23.
2. The Savior’s model prayer was given as an example of how we
should pray. Whose name is to be sanctified? What position should
this request occupy in our prayers? Matt. 6:9 and Luke 11:2.
COMMENT: Hallowed means sanctified or made holy, set apart.

protection in the tribulation?

Conclusion
To the brethren of the Assemblies of Yahweh, those who desire
to be virgins spiritually, the Name of our Savior is like oil poured
forth, Song of Solomon 1:3. The Sacred Name actually opens our eyes
to many new truths which have been hidden in the Scriptures for
centuries. The Bible prophesies that in the last days a great religious
persecution will sweep across this world. Where are a people being
persecuted for the name of Jesus Christ in our day? But for the name
of Yahshua the Messiah, the brethren of the Assemblies of Yahweh
gladly endure the persecution which has been predicted, Matt. 24:9
and John 15:21. Will you join us in a knowledgeable faith in the Name
of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Yahshua the Messiah?
