DIPLOMACY

Every nation wants to maintain peace and to avoid war. So the question is that how that can be
possible? Diplomacy is the way through which allies cooperate with each other and adversaries
resolve conflicts. Every solution not need a war so we have to go for other channel which is
diplomacy. States communicate, bargain, influence one another though diplomacy. There are
three tools of diplomacy that can be used for diplomacy including persuasions, compromise and
use of force. Diplomacy is an effective tool in an anarchical system. No any nation can afford
isolation so a nation use diplomacy for that and if the diplomacy failed, it can lead to a war.
Diplomacy is nothing but the management of international relations by negotiations. Two types
of diplomacy are found that are traditional and new. Traditional diplomacy is secretive in
nature and it starts from Europe in which French, Germen, and English methods of diplomacy
can be seen. At that time, this type of diplomacy was influenced by the great powers of that
time which were Great Britain, Austria, France, and Russia. Traditional diplomacy emerged with
treaty of Westphalia. Italian, French and germen forms are applies in traditional diplomacy and
it is based on assumptions that great powers have special responsibility towards world peace.
Going forward to new type of diplomacy, which core features are greater openness (Woodrow
Wilson President of America also supports it), multilateralism, summit diplomacy.
