INTRODUCTION:

AC/DC High Voltage Tester is useful for Calibration of High Voltage Probes, measurement of
Breakdown Voltage of transformers, Electrical & Electronics instruments, Motors, Components, Control
Panels etc. Breakdown tests of Transformer and Instrument are conducted between two different sections
of live parts or between live part and earth at High Voltage recommended by relevant standard.

HV Tester is designed to meet the expectation of user at economy without compromise with
performance. It will find application in Industries, Test Laboratories, R&D Organization and Service
Industries.

OPERATING PROCEDURE

1. Before switching the power ON the Tester, ensure SET HV Variac is at its minimum (anticlockwise
end position). Test ON /OFF switch should be in the OFF position.

2. User should decide on test to be performed whether AC or DC. User should select AC or DC O/P
HV Test from Slide window on side plate. Connect banana pin of HV Test probe to Hi terminal of
HV Tester, HV Low point is earth which is available on external Plate.

3. Now Power ON the Instrument by Power ON/OFF switch.

4. Set appropriate Leakage Current using potentiometer and press to set switch on mA DPM.

5. Change the Test ON/OFF Switch to ON position & press switch from HV Test Probe. High Voltage
is ON now and during this period Buzzer gives audible sound. Also HV ON RED Neon illuminates
during this period.

6. Gradually increase the Voltage by SET HV Potentiometer till the desired Test Voltage is indicated
on Digital Voltage Meter.

7. Bring the Voltage Potentiometer to minimum position after completion of test.

8. Remove the item under Test.

INSTALLTION & PRECAUTIONS

1. On receiving the unit unpack it carefully and check for any damage.

2. HV Tester should be given good Earth and care should be taken it never gets brake.

3. Never replace the Fuse (6A) by higher rated Fuse or by a short link.

4. Connect the HV Tester to supply with the help of 3-pin cable provided.

5. Only one function AC or DC test voltage can be selected.

6. Operator should always wear safety HV hand gloves, foot wares (Shock Proof)

7. Voltage should be increased slowly.

8. Mat on ground should be used.
