Johnathan Thurston the Autobiography is about how


Johnathan became an Aussie league legend and widely
known as one of Australia’s best rugby players. This is
an extremely powerful story about Johnathan’s up
bringing to making it to the big league. His story
includes friendship, his ups and downs, family, love,
heartbreak and his best moments. This is a book that you
should buy and read.
In the prologue it has one of his best moments, was when
he won the 2015 Grand Final for the Cowboys. As well
as his wife Sam and daughter Frankie being there to
support and encourage him. Johnathan is extremely
passionate about his family and it means everything to
him.
When Johnathan was young and first trying to get into
the big teams, he struggled a lot. He got rejected a lot
because he was too small and not strong or good enough.
This effected Johnathan a lot, but it shows how he never
gives up, even when everything looks bad. It also shows
this when he missed the kick in the grand final and then
at the last minutes, he got the winning goal.
This book shows how important sport is to the
community because they all come and support, they
teams. In the prologue Johnathan says “the crowed
roared. The screams were deafening”. This shows how
much people love the sport.
Johnathan is very passionate about family and friendship.
Friendship is very important to him in the prologue his
friend support him even if he does a mistake and when
he is upset. When Johnathan missed a kick and was
devastated, and he says that all his teammates came
rushing in and telling him that he can do it that “we got
this”. Every teammate gave him a slap on the back say
that its “not over yet” and that “the job still to be done”.
When Johnathan got the winning goal all his friends gave
him hugs and where jumping on him to celebrate, they
also had parties all night celebrating the win.
