COURSE SYNOPSIS:

The course exposes learners to the English Sound System, features of connected
speech, stress, intonation, and meaning, and sound and meaning. This course also
includes an exposure to the problems in pronunciation to ensure improved
comprehension and intelligibility.

(Kursus ini memberi pelajar pendedahan kepada system bunyi bahasa Inggeris, ciri-ciri
bahasa pertuturan, stres, intonasi dan makna, bunyi dan makna. Pendedahan juga
diberi tentang pelbagai masalah sebutan untuk tujuan meningkatkan kefahaman
pelajar.)

RATIONALE OF THE COURSE:

This course provides a basis for the enhancement of English language pronunciation for
students.

Reminders:
1. Students must attend all lectures, tutorials, laboratory, studio or other activities related to the course, including courses with no final
examination (perkara 4.1 dan 4.3)
2. Students with attendance of less than 80% will not be allowed to sit for the final examination. (perkara 4.2)
3. Perkara 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 can be waived for students who have health problems and must be certified by a government or UPSI panel clinic
medical officer.
4. Students who have to represent UPSI/State/Country in activity that is directed by the government or UPSI, are required to obtain a
recommendation letter from the Dean and must be approved by the Academic Affairs Division.
