Government accounting

- Every state has it’s own gvnt.

- Accounting system that is applied and
followed by the gvnt offices, so it
records the financial transaction of the
govt.
- It’s related to keep records of gvnt
revenue, expenditure, penalties,
subsidies, grants, loans etc.
- It’s concerned with systematic &
scientific recording of gvnt revenue &
expenditures.
- It reveals how public funds have been
generated & utilized for the welfare
( financial support given to the public)
of the general public.

Accountability over government funds &

- Transfer of funds to one officer to the

other is not allowed. (except as allowed
by the law) BUT it will be made ONLY
after the authorization of the COA.
- An accountable officer shall
immediately notify the COA. (if nay loss,
within 30 days)
