The 2020 Animal Science Camp was designed to teach
students about animal biology. This camp was for students in
4th-9th grade in Commodore Perry and Greenville School
districts. Students also learned how to take care of the
animals that live alongside us as. Throughout the week,
students played the role of Animal Scientist. Students
diagnosed and treated a variety of animals through a Vet
Quest: Animal Case Study activity. Students were able to
learn about the anatomy of animals and the parasites that can
affect animals with their Veterinarian Science Kits. By looking
through microscopes, students got up close to many different
insects. Students learned about ant colonies and got to create
their own ant farm to study. Lastly, students learned about
the importance of honeybees to our environment. The Animal
Science Camp was held via Google Classroom and ZOOM.

Students got to play the role of
a veterinarian using the Explore
what it would be like to be a
veterinarian (on a much smaller
scale, of course) using the
Scientific Explorer Veterinary
Science Kit. In this kit students
learned how to suture cuts,
learn x-ray anatomy, and
bandage fractures.
Students share their completed
veterinarian projects during one of
their daily ZOOM Meetings.
