Significance of the Study

The output of this study will aid government heads and supervisors to value employee
motivation and satisfaction as forces that would enhance the performance of workers with
respect to their assigned tasks. This will also serve as basis to help managers of private sectors
and business firms to be resolute in the gathering of imformation and raising their
consciousness on how to satisfy employees to exert their best efforts. Heads of firms and
departments especially in government sectors will be aided in the way that through this study,
they would learn about their roles on how to enhance the performances of the workers. This
would give them insights that motivation and satisfaction as related sujects in employees'
performance are essential to achieve a good organizational goal and develop a good
organizational culture. Employees on the other hand would benefit from this study by acquiring
information about self-motivating factors that would affect their satisfaction toward their
services in a firm.

This study contains literatures that are interrelated with respect to motivation and
satisfaction of employees. The examined literatures, theories and the output of this study will
serve as basis for further related studies.
Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study will determine the association between employee job satisfaction and
employee motivation of government employees at the different offices of Maasin City Hall,
Maasin City, Southern Leyte. This will be conducted within the first semester for School Year
2018-2019. The primary data gathering instrument to be used is researcher-made
questionnaire-checklists.

The findings from this study will be taken from 40 sample respondents from the selected
offices of Maasin City Hall. The number of respondents is limited due to the limited availability
of government employees in the different offices and in order to finish the study according to
the given time allotment.

The result of this study will be derived from the views and perspectives of the
respondents with regard to salary and benefits, relationship with head of office and colleagues,
freedom at work, job security, synergy and the work in overall that they tend to specify.

This study therefore cannot be generalized to reflect the level of satisfaction and
motivation of all government employees in other government firms due to the differences in
the firms' conditions and individual preferences or expectations.
