    This is in reference to the ‘congratulations’ remark of Harry Roque in beating the University of
    the Philippines prediction. UP researchers estimated that the country would have around 40,000 cases of
    Covid-19 by the end of June. The Philippines had 37,514 confirmed cases on June 30. Roque said that the
    number of confirmed cases, the last day of June, in the Philippines are lower than the number of the
    predicted by the UP researchers. Roque later says” We beat the UP prediction po. We beat it. So
    congratulations, Philippines!” which causes criticism from the netizens. As of July 11, 2020, the number
    of confirmed cases in the Philippines is 54, 222 and the Covid-19 daily infections is 1,160.
