In order to resolve the communication issue, we also have another fix to

mitigate the problem. Turning the CA3 into CA2 operating mode – power
from the machine only. This procedure will eliminate the use of the CA3
internal USB power supply, which causes the noise issue. After you do this
procedure the CA3 can only power up from the machine only, NOT From
PC. All of other functions are still the same.

Unzip the attached file “CA3_powertoggle.zip” into the same folder on a


PC. They all need to be together for the batch files to work properly. In
order to perform the update, you must connect the CA3 to a PC that does not
have any connection problems when talking to the CA3. Use the new cable
or a desktop PC would probably be the best choice. Then run the
PowerSupplyOff.bat file by double clicking it. A DOS window will
appear and should state that update was successful. Unplug the CA3 from
PC, from this time on the CA3 only power up when connecting to a
machine. Connect the CA3 to a vehicle and see if you have better
communications.
