IV. Test Method

The purpose of the pressure test is to ensure and guarantee uniform watertightness in the valve in "fully open"
and "fully closed" service condition under previously defined parameters.

The valve will be tested in the body at 60 PSI for a minimum period of 3 minutes. Valve completely open, with a
blind Flange in the Input and Output of the valve. The procedure will be monitored with a certified pressure gauge
mounted on the Valve's Inlet Flange. To generate the test pressure a manual pump will be used until reaching 60
PSI without leakage or pressure loss for a period of 3 minutes.

The valve will be tested in the Seals at 60 PSI for a minimum period of 3 minutes.

Each test stage will be recorded by photograph (minimum 3), indicating the pressure and start time, Pressure and
end time, pressure in the Valve.

V. Equipment Considered in Test

 Manual Pump
 Blind Flange Size 48” ANSI B16,47
 Blind Flange Size 48” ANSI B16,47
 Open Flange Size 48”
 Thread Stud 1-1/2”UNC
 Nuts 1-1/2”UNC
 Golilla
1. The procedure can be performed in our workshop or in customer facilities considering an air compressor,
water and three-phase electric power for the electric actuator power.

VI. Body Test Procedure

1. Previous Visual Inspection

The valve will be completely checked before the procedure to detect possible damage to Splice Face (RF)
or shocks in the flanges and body area.

2. Purge Test
The valve will be filled with water with a defined pressure in order to evacuate the maximum air into the
body. The end of test will be determined by the full air outlet. The air will be evacuated through the test
bench and a purge valve.

3. Preliminary Body Test

The objectives of the preliminary test are: 1) detect possible water leaks, 2) ensure all connections in
Flanges and pipes for further main testing. Depressurize to atmospheric pressure.

4. Principal Test
The principal test will be performed with the defined test pressure approximately 10 minutes, with the
Test Bench, the test pressure will be held in the valve to verify the behavior of the body
To validate the test, no leakage should be observed as long as the pressure is constant.

VII. Seals Test Procedure

1. Previous Visual Inspection

The valve will be completely checked before the procedure to detect possible damage in the Seat, Seals,
Stem Packing, to Splice Face (RF) or shocks in the flanges and body area.

body. The end of test will be determined by the full air outlet. The air will be evacuated through the test
bench and a purge valve.

3. Preliminary Seals Test

The objectives of the preliminary test are: 1) detect possible water leaks in all seals and seat, 2) ensure all
connections in Flanges and pipes for further main testing. Depressurize to atmospheric pressure.

VIII. Validation of tests

After the positive execution of the hydrostatic tests, the manufacturer will prepare and provide the customer a Test Report (of
conformity) the performed tests as guarantee for the customer or end user.
