P15.3.

5 Where utility services conflict with the Temporary Works and are not feasible
to be diverted, they must be supported and protected during the
construction of the Works at the UGW’s cost. The UGW shall submit, to the
relevant utility authorities for acceptance and approval, calculations and
detailed drawings, endorsed by a Professional Engineer (PE) or
registered/licensed competent person, for the necessary support and
protection of these services, for approval prior to construction. Any
requirement that may be imposed by the utility authorities in this connection
shall be complied and deemed to be included in the Contract Price. The UGW
shall take all due care and necessary precautionary measures to ensure that
no damage occurs to any existing sewer, water or gas mains, electricity or
telecommunication cables, culverts, and any other existing services.

P15.3.6 In the event where there are proposed advanced diversion works and have
not yet commenced or have not been completed upon the award of the
Contract, the remaining works which will be carried out by others shall be
incorporated into the UGW’s works programme and the UGW shall liaise and
coordinate with the relevant parties to ensure that his works programme is
achieved. No Extension of Time or additional costs due to the incorporation
of outstanding utilities works will be accepted.

P15.3.7 Where the proposed advanced diversion works affect the UGW’s
construction, the UGW may propose to divert them, subject to the approval
by the Employer’s Representative and utility authorities. All costs for the
diversion works including coordination by the UGW with the utility
authorities and the provision of access, temporary support of utilities prior to
and after the completion of the realignment works and removal of utilities to
be abandoned shall be borne by the UGW. The consequential costs shall be
deemed to be included in the Contract Price.

P15.3.8 The UGW shall provide the method statement for utility diversion work,
utility support, combined utility diversion plan and the contingency plan. The
method statement and contingency plan are subject to relevant utility
authority’s approval.
