REFUTATION OF INNOVATIONS BY IMAM AHMED RIDA
Introduction:
Alahazrat, meaning “Grand Master” was a common title of respect1 in the 13th/14th
century Hijri. Imām Aĥmad Riđā was called Alahazrat as he was the leader of Sunni
scholars and a major force against innovators. This title became so famous, that it
has now become a synonym for Imām Aĥmad Riđā Khān. Upon his second and
eventful visit to Arabia in 1323, scholars of the two sanctuaries – Makkah and
Madīnah – were so impressed by his erudition and his efforts to safeguard Ahl as-
Sunnah, that prominent scholars hailed him as the Reviver of Religion 2. Major
scholars in (undivided) India also agreed that all the qualities required in a Reviver
were found in him and thus he is considered as the Mujaddid of the 14th century
after the Prophet‫ ﷺ‬emigration. Imām Aĥmad Riđā referred to himself as Abd al-
Muşţafā or the slave of the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬. (Who is Ala Hazrat By Ridawi Press UK, Page:

False Accusations on Alahazrat:
Deobandīs and Anti-Madh’hab groups claim that Alahazrat was a bidatī, a man of
innovation; that he supported innovations, was an unrelenting extremist, and had a
penchant for making takfīr3 of anyone who disagreed with him 4. Deobandīs have an
axe to grind, and therefore allege that Alahazrat was inimical to their elders (like
Gangohī, Nanotwī, Ambethwī and Thānawī) and therefore did takfīr by attributing
such beliefs to them, which they did not profess. This propaganda has caused
immense confusion and many Sunni scholars outside the subcontinent are deceived
by such lies; some scholars even think that Alahazrat and his followers are beyond
the pale of Islām. Scholars and students are working to change this grotesque picture
and reveal the truth. Therefore, it is necessary to expose the Wahābī-component of
Deobandīs, which they conceal in the company of Sunnis in the West and Arab

of every century and revive the religion; that he will clarify doubts, refute heresies and
fight innovation.

4 Nuz’hatu’l Khawāţir has scholarly slanders; and dozens of books like Shihāb al-
Thāqib, booklets of Chāndpūrī, and Al-Baraylawiyyah of Iĥsān Ilāhī Żahīr are known for
cheap and tawdry insults.

Refutation of innovations by Alahazrat:
Alhamdulillah Alahazrat has written hundreds of books refuting all kinds of

innovations in islam in every field. Hatred and ignorant people today are misusing
the term barelvi/Alahazrat and assigning all the innovations in his account. This is not
the truth. May allah curse upon those ignorants who are always trying to hide his
original works and make false propaganda against Imam Ahmed Rida.
Imam Ahmed Rida Rahmathullah Alaihi is the personality who refuted all the
innovations taking place especially in the holy shrines of auliya allah. Hundreds of his
fatwas are available which prove that, Alahazrat refuted each and every innovation
taking place at holy shrines. Since the ignorant does not possess any valid reason to
target alahazrat they started making wrong propaganda against alahazrat and
assigned all the wrong innovations towards him.
Innovation at holy shrines:
All the innovations at holy shrines such as doing sajda/tawaaf of qabr, putting locks,
putting threads, cutting hair, chadar business, ring business, fake sufi peers,
qawwalis with mazamir, dancing during qawwalis, lighting candles unnecessarily,
usage of DJ/Dhol etc., are being refuted by alahazrat in his works.
These so called wahabi ghair muqallid/deobandis/salafi/ahle hadeeth does not have

the capacity to present alahazrat works in front of muslims which shows his
refutation against innovations. Because if they present actual works of alahazrat
about this subject then people will ask “Then why you are accusing barelvis as
innovators in this subject” and after that all their corrupted beliefs will come in front
of the people. To hide those issues these ignorant started spreading false
propaganda against alahazrat.
All the above said innovations are beings supported and managed by so called
corrupted sufis/fake sajjada nasheen who are running the holy shrines. It has nothing
to do with ahlus sunnah and alahazrat teachings. Hence we are not here to defend
those things which are already refuted by alahazrat. Only those fake sufis/sajjada has
to give answer for their innovations.
Propoganda by Kharjis/Ignorants:
Now you can see some photos below which are being circulated in social media.
There are thousand of such photos and videos available online, I am presenting here
only few to show their real face. In these photos they assign all innovations to
alahazrat which are no where related to his teachings in any way. In this particular
task deobandis and ahle hadith kharjis are fighting each other who can progress
more to spread false allegations against alahazrat?

These kharjis does not care about their aqirah and the Day of Judgment. They can
spread any hatred towards the aqabireen of ahlus sunnah blindly without quoting
their real teachings. In the final conclusion part, we will be describing their tactics
how they fool the common laymen.
References from deviants book:
Hundreds of books and narrations available in which they assign all these innovations
in the account of barelvis/alahazrat. In order to give a brief information, I am
presenting here only 2 books written by ghair muqallid and deobandi.
1.“Mutala Barelviat” By Dr. Khalid Mahmood:
This book is a famous book among the deobandis. If you discuss with deobandis, they
will refer you this book in particular. I too have similar experience with my native
(Pernambut, Tamilnadu) deobandis. This books contains number of lies and wrong
assignments against alahazrat. In this book Dr. Khalid Mahmood Sahab has proved
that “You must be a liar and ignorant to name yourself as a deobandi”.
Alhamdulillah, this books is refuted in a well manner by Allama Muhammed Hasan Ali
Razvi Sahab in his book “Muhasiba Deobandiat Bajawab Mutala Barelviat”.
2.“Barelviat Tareeq-o-aqaid” By Ahsan Ilahi Zaheer:
I am not aware of this author, but he has done his job very beautifully like other
ignorant scholars of wahabism in spreading wrong propaganda about alahazrat.

Let me present some references from alahazrat writings, in which he has refuted all
the innovations related to various subjects. Now I am kindly requesting the readers
to spend their valuable time to read the works of Imam Ahmed Rida Rahmathullah
Alaihi and after that you compare his teachings with these so called
deobandis/wahabis so that you can see the difference between Haq and Baatil. For
that you must spend your time to read and learn. Otherwise there are so many
possibilities that, you can be convinced with deviants in some way which will lead to
deviate you from the path of Sawad-e-azam.

Conclusion:
1) Deviants possess both qualities of Munafiqeen and Kharjis in many aspects

and assign irrelevant innovations to alahazrat.
2) All the objections discussed above are not related to teachings of alahazrat.
3) Innovations at holy shrines are made by fake sufi cults and the same
innovations are refuted by alahazrat in his writings.
4) All the objections presented by deviants shall be responded by concern
corrupted sufis/sajjada who are responsible for that.
5) These innovations not related to ahlus sunnah. Ruling over these issues are
already declared and fatwas available since 100 years.
6) Deviants cannot refute alahazrat in terms of quran and hadith. This is the
reason they assign irrelevant innovations to alahazrat to fool the innocent
muslims.
7) Alahazrat agreed only those acts which are free from all innovations. For that
he has provided a lot of references for all his claims.
8) In the book “Barelviat Tareeq-o-aqaid”, Page No. 197 the author Ahsan Ilahi
Zaheer agreed himself that Ismail Dehelvi was the leader of wahabism.
9) Deviants hiding the actual points which lead to sectarianism.
10) To deviate innocent muslims, all innovations are putting in the account of
alahazrat.
11) If they are doing these works knowingly, then may allah curse upon those who
are diverting sunnis to wahabism.
