2. SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL, PRIEST

VIRTUE OF THE MONTH: GENTLENESS

SPECIAL CELEBRATION: Sept. 21-Oct. 21, 2019- International Lasallian Days of Peace
with the theme, “Peace is always possible”
Introduction
Good morning sisters and brothers in Christ. Today, we are celebrating two
great feasts as a Church in general and as Lasallians in particular with St.
Vincent de Paul and Blessed Br. Scubillion Rousseau FSC. St. Vincent de
Paul is the patron of charities and hospitals and founded the religious
Congregation of Mission (CM) or known as Vincentians dedicated to care
for the sick and the poor.

As Lasallians, we are celebrating the feast of Blessed Br. Scubillion

Rousseau FSC known as the Patron of the College of Education. He is
remembered as the “catechist of the slaves” as he inaugurated evening
classes for them, which well attended, even after a long day of exhausting
labor. He devised special programs and techniques, suited to their needs
and abilities, in order to teach the essentials of Christian Doctrine and
morality, and prepare them to receive the sacraments. He won them over
by his kindly manner and his respect for them. We also joined today our
brothers and sisters here in LSU Integrated School who belong to the
house of Scubi as they celebrate in gratitude and rejoicing the feast of their
patron saint.

In addition, we are also celebrating the International Lasallian Days of

Peace from Sept. 21-Oct. 21, 2019 with the theme, “Peace is always
possible”.

Let us beg the Lord in this Eucharistic Celebration, that St. Vincent de Paul
and Blessed Br. Scubillion, become our models to follow Christ in
spreading the good news of our salvation, in promoting the culture of
peace, in living a holy and illustrious life, in service for God and to his
people.

Let us also ask for their intercessions for our brothers and sisters who will
be taking the Board of Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers on
September 29, 2019 especially the members of our Lasallian family. Please
stand and sing our entrance song.
