May peace and blessings be with you all.

September 8, 2023, marks the commemoration of the Societas Verbi Divini (SVD)'s 148th foundation day
and the feast day of the Blessed Mother's nativity, a day of deep significance and reflection for our
beloved Divine Word College of Legazpi community.

I am pleased to inform you that, by virtue of Republic Act 11370, September 8th is declared a special
working holiday throughout the country in honor of the Virgin Mary's birth. This means that our
academic and administrative operations will continue as usual, with classes in session and offices open.
Nevertheless, we have taken thoughtful measures to ensure that this day is observed with the respect
and unity it deserves.

At 9:30 a.m. on September 8th, a solemn Mass will be held in our Nativity chapel. Recognizing that
there are no in-person classes for basic education on Fridays, we encourage our dedicated faculty and
staff from the north campus, alongside office staff and faculty from the south campus, to attend the
Mass in the chapel. This collective gathering promises to strengthen our bonds of community and
spirituality.

Furthermore, we are committed to making this celebration accessible to all members of our institution.
To this end, we will set up monitors in the college chapel the, student lounge and classrooms. This will
allow faculty and students from our various schools to participate in the festivities by tuning in to the
live stream on the DWCL Facebook page and CeSMi Facebook page. Embracing this inclusive approach,
we aim to foster a sense of togetherness and shared values that define our institution.

In closing, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication to our college and our shared
faith. May this special day be one of abundant blessings and profound reflections for each of us.
