Feast of St. Rosalia,

Holy Woman

Dear Parents:

RE: STUDENT’S RECOLLECTION

Peace in Christ!

With the main objective of having the students’ faith grow like a sycamore tree, I, along with some
volunteer teachers, have organized a Recollection event, the second time to take place since November
of 2022. I am elated to share this news and below are the specifics:

- What: Recollection with the theme: ‘Mary arose and went in haste’.
- When: August 5, 2023, at 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Who: Roman Catholic students particularly SMP and SMA
- Where: Retreat House, SS.CC (Tanjung Piayu)

Resonating from the objective itself, the students’ full participation determines the success of the
event. It is thereof established by the subject to have this activity as a must, one crucial part of the
learners’ exposure to faith, drawn closer by the rich meaning of the liturgy and for them also to make
sense of what they profess being bearers of the Gospel of Love. On this note, our objectives for this
event are inspired by the World Youth Day’s theme.

• To revisit, understand and be inspired by Marian virtues.

• To responsibly form and follow their Christian conscience through their concrete acts of living
out Christ’s teachings in all their relationships.
• To take time, pause and reflect on the Gospel values that they all ought to revisit and understand
deeper especially in the current context.

To materialize the event, an amount of 150,000 per participant needs to be contributed. This will
cover the fee for the venue, the materials and tools, lunch, and the stipend for the invited priest. This
has to be given to Shawn Michael Santiago, SMA 3 on or before the 24th of July 2023. Note that snacks
need to be brought by the participants themselves along with a notebook, a family picture, rosary, a
bible and a costume proper to a saint your child patronizes. We have provided a few pictures below
for your reference. There is no need to buy them; your child can directly coordinate with Teacher Bob
regarding this one. Furthermore, the committee recommends your attendance during the
celebration of the Eucharist taking place at around 4:30 PM. It will already be a Sunday anticipated
mass. Setting the expectations, most of the participants are from Monte Sienna School but this time,
the organizers have opened it to a limited number of SMP and SMA students who desire to experience
the opportunities underlying the event.

From here, we sincerely value and appreciate the partnership and support that we establish in
fostering this Faith that you have gifted to these young people.

Sincerely yours,

Mr. Yoakim Rahmatprasojo
